The Lost De'Luca

Chapter Fifty Six

It's the next day and we were currently in the living room playing some games. We all had nothing else to do except Antonio who still chose to work at a time like this

"When can we get our phones back? I'm tired of these stupid games. Matteo has been cheating since the very beginning" Xander said in irritation

"Not true!" Matteo yelled with a deep frown

"I totally believe you" Xander said in sarcasm

"You know we can't risk that Xander. Be patient" Alessandro said softly

"Fine" he grumbled

"Time for dinner" Emilio said as he walked into the room. I caught him looking at me and he quickly turned away

What's that about?

"Gabriella please get Antonio" Domenico said

Antonio had locked himself in his study since morning, refused to have breakfast and lunch saying he was busy

I made my way to his study and knocked on the door

"Who is it?" He asked after somet time

"It's me Gabriella" I said and I heard the door unlock

"Is there something you need bambina?" He asked as he went back to his seat to bury himself with more work

"Yes. I need you to come down for dinner" I said and he rose his head to look at me

"I'm busy right now bambina. I'll have it later" he said and I sighed

"That's what you said earlier. Stop being stubborn and come have something to eat!" I said in frustration

"Gabriella I'm not a child. If I'm hungry I will eat but right now I'm busy and you're disturbing me" he said in a failed attempt to send me away

"What has kept you so occupied since this morning?" I asked and snatched one of the papers on the table

I looked at it and saw some details of Viktoria. All this time he wasn't doing mafia work but trying to get more information on Viktoria

"Tony-"

"Give me that back bambina and leave please!" He said and took the paper back from me while pushing me towards the door

"Hell no. This is about me and I have all right to know what is going on so tell me right now. What did you find?" I said and he grunted

"Her father is Maxim Volkov. I killed him some years ago because he kidnapped the twins and Matteo.

I appointed one of my trusted men to take over the mafia but some years later I found out he was killed. I struggled to find out who the new successor was but no one had ever seen his face

I have come to the conclusion that she took after her father's mafia and now wants revenge for his death, she wants me to suffer the same pain she did hence why she's going after you" he explained

I didn't know what to say to all this. She's the mystery daughter of Maxim, I knew Maxim, he was a self centered prick who would risk the lives of his loved ones just to obtain power

But I never knew he had a daughter, he must have hidden her so she could continue his legacy without any threat

What a sneaky bastard

"Did you say the twins and Matteo were kidnapped? How?" I asked as I suddenly recalled the other information he told me

"The twins were just thirteen and Matteo twelve. We had received threats from Maxim earlier so we increased our security.

But there was a traitor in our midst. He told Maxim how to get to them and while they were at school, he took them

He told me to give up my mafias or he would kill them. He took pictures of their bloodied bodies and sent them to me. After I managed to find them, I killed Maxim" he explained with pain evident in his tone

"What did he do to them?" I asked. I'm no idiot, Maxim was a disgusting man. He would never just torture his captives, there was always something more

"That's not my story to tell Gabriella. They will tell you when they're ready to but do not ever bring this up to any of them. Especially Matteo" he said as he looked away from me

"I promise I won't" I said and he nodded

"Now let's go have dinner" I said and he nodded with much hesitation

He followed me to the dining room and when Dom saw us, he casted me a grateful smile.

While eating I couldn't help but wonder if Luke and Viktoria are working together. Luke was working for the Russians before but what if that is still the case?

After eating I went to my shared room with Dom and took out a book from the book shelf

There's nothing else to do so I might as well do some reading. Just when I was getting captivated by the book the door opened and Dom walked in

"You're that bored?" He asked when he saw the book in my hand

"You have no idea" I said as I put the book down

"Remember I told you I would do my own digging on Viktoria?" He asked all of a sudden

"Yeah?"

"I found this" he said and handed me a file with the De'Luca name on it. It reminded me of the file I saw back in Franklin's office during the mission

I opened it and saw different addresses. I looked at Dom in confusion, what does this have to do with Viktoria?

"These addresses are of some local gangs and even smaller mafias than ours. I found out that Viktoria had been in contact with them" he said

"And?"

"Bambina all of them are our rivals. Don't you see what she's trying to do?" He asked and it finally clicked

"She's trying to build an army to attack us. But I don't understand I thought her aim is to kidnap me?" I said in confusion

"What if that's not her only aim? What if after getting you, she attacks us knowing fully well we'd be at our weakest without you?

She knows we won't hand over our mafias so what if she uses them all to attack us and take our mafias?" He said as he rubbed his face tiredly

From what Antonio told me I don't think that's her aim at all

"I don't think she has any interest in our mafias. She wants to destroy our family entirely, she wants to kill me and completely destroy everything. That's her main goal" I said and he stared at me in shock

"Bambina things are getting riskier the more we dig. I'm worried this girl is far more dangerous than we think. All she's been doing is taunting us, what happens when she makes her move?" He said

"I found a file like this at the party Franklin held. What if we can find more in that file? If we can find out everything concerning her plan we can avoid it" I said

"Where is it?" He asked eagerly

"It's in my warehouse, in a safe. I suspected it could contain something very important which is why I hid it properly. The only problem is how to get it, I can't leave the house" I said and he sighed

"We'll find a way to get it back. Tomorrow we will tell Antonio about this information, it's better we work together instead of secretively. We'll be able to get somewhere" he said and kissed my forehead

"Go to bed" he said and I obliged
