chapter 14~ irresponsible

Rain falls from the grey sky, hitting concrete ground and dripping off the green leafs of the palm trees planted around the roundabout outside the main entrance. The cold weather contrasts your mood as you stand by the arrivals, in Jeju airport, with Bang Chan. The place wasn't busy, but your mind was with exited thoughts. You hadn't been away from everyone this long yet, and you were inching to have a group hug.

"Oppa, what time were they supposed land?"
Chan checks the watch on his wrist and sighs angrily.

"26 minutes ago."

"Let's go sit down in that area. They'll still be able to see us from there."
You follow him, take a seat next to each other, and look out the large glass windows. The rain seemed to get stronger, forming puddles on the ground as taxies drive over them unexpectedly, splashing passerbys waiting for people to pick them up.

"Do you think they got caught up in the storm?"
Chan looks at you, who is staring outside.

"They're fine, probably got caught up in passport control, you know how busy it gets."
You nod in agreement and turn to face him.

"Yea, probably."
A few minutes later, from the corner of your eye, a small group of men come out of the arrival corridor. Wheeling a multitude of suitcases on trollies. You stand up, immediately recognising all their faces. Jisung is the first one who drops everything and runs over, engulfing you in a warm embrace, and soon enough, the others join in. Chan stands behind, observing like a proud father, smiling at everyones sudden softness. You break away from the hug and see the mountains of suitcases these guys bring with them.

"Yah, you guys packed the whole house. Where do you think all of this is going to fit?"
Chan chuckles at your remark, and Changbin starts to defend himself about the fact he needed to bring all his essentials across 2 family sized suitcases.

For the first time in ages, everything seemed perfect. Even if a few strangers in the airport were staring, you were finally with the boys that you had spent almost 8 years of your life with. Before leaving the airport, they split into two taxies, and you, Chan, and Lee Know (after an intense game of Rock Paper Scissors) pile into your fathers truck. When you finally arrive home and show a curious Lee Know around the house, you message the others who had arrived at their separate hotel to unpack and wash up.
