You are both Chans' warm room, sat on his bed, soft mood lighting illuminating the sanctuary. You're lying, head on his chest, and hugging his upper torso. He's got both his arms tightly wrapped around you.
"Dang it, I forgot to ask Hyunjin to get me some pads. What's the time?"
Chan releases you and slightly shifts his body to the side to be able to reach over to his phone on the bedside table. He turns it on, and a cursed x0.5 image of your face fills the screen along with the time.
"It's 12 past 10 he left like 20 minutes ago. He's probably still walking to the shop, knowing he's a slow walker."
You hum in agreement.
"Can you pass me my phone? I'll call him then."
He whines, telling you that your phone is too far away for him to reach without leaving the bed, but you insist, and he caves in. Chan gets up from the bed, getting your phone from the desk and throwing it to you. Placing Hyunjin on speed dial, it rings a few times before going to voicemail.
"Huh, that's weird. I swear I saw his phone in his hand before he left, call him again."
Except this time, it produces the same results and goes to voicemail after he doesn't pick up. Chan lays down on the bed next to you, trying to get comfortable again.
"It's fine, it's probably on do not disturb. I'll just get some tomorrow."
Chan frowns a bit whilst sitting up.
"You sure? If you don't have any left, you can go now and catch up with Hyunjin."
"No, it's fine you dont have to, I've got enough to last me till tomorrow. Thank you for offering, though. Maybe I'll call him again. "
Unlocking your phone, you speed dial Hyunjin number again and wait for it to ring, only when you look back up you notice Chris.
"It is my destiny and fate to do anything for you."
You roll your eyes jokingly at this statement and bright smile breaks across his face as he shifts himself back down, taking you into a tight embrace. Pecking your forehead lightly.
"Anything for you, and I mean it."
You move in impossiblly closer to him, resting your head on his nape, taking in his natural scent.
"I literally don't deserve you, Chan."
"Come on, if anything, I don't deserve you. Actually, if anything, we don't deserve you."
You chuckle at the response.
"You know what? Yea you guys don't deserve me because I work like a dog trying to clean this apartment and the most I get is Minho complaining I dyed his white socks pink after I did the washing that one time. Thank the Lord. At least Jeongin and Seungmin buy candles for the house so it doesn't smell like a pig - "
Changbin doesn't even knock when he barges into the room. You two break apart instantly, rolling onto opposite sides of the bed, awkwardly laying there as he stands in the doorway holding a phone in his hand.
"Okay, when Seungmin told me that there was something going on between you two, I didn't believe him. But now I have evidence."
He rolls his eyes and properly shows the screen of the phone he has to you and presses end call. It clicks after way too long that he's holding Hyunjin's phone and that he had answered 2 minutes ago and had heard the whole conversation between you and Chan.
"Anything for youuu~"
Changbin mocks Chan in a high voice and throws the phone on the bed right next to you. Looking over at Chan, he's buried his face in his hands out of embarrassment, and his ears are bright red. You sit up equally as embarrassed, rubbing your temples.
"Honestly, guys, listening to that conversation was more entertaining than the drama Seungmin is forcing me to watch with him. But why the hell were you calling Hyunjin."
You pause immediately and look down at Hyunjin's phone next to you and then back up at Changbin, who is leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed.
"Chan, don't you need your phone to pick a parcel up? You know to scan the qr code to confirm the order."
You look back down at him, laying on the bed as he uncovers his face, still flushed from being humbled earlier.
"Umm yea, you do, why? Oh."
He sits up instantly, laying eyes on the phone on the bed and then back at you.
"No way that guy forgot to bring his phone going to pick up a parcel. "
Changbin hears this and laughs from the doorway.
"He went to get a parcel and didn't bring his phone?"
You nod, smiling, almost laughing yourself.
"I seriously don't know how he does it. Can't make fun of the poor guy, though. He still kicks himself for losing Felix's credit card abroad."
Since the door is open, you can hear that someone is flipping through channels on the television ( presumably Seungmin since he had the remote), and someone else was in the kitchen boiling water in the kettle. Someone yells from the living room.
"Yah, Changbin hyung, come look at this."
He sighs, closing his eyes before leaving you in the room flashing a sly smirk when he doesn't close the door behind him. Seungmin increases the volume on the TV to unbearably high, and you let out a groan before getting up from the comfy bed to close the door. However, as you get ahold of the door knob the words from the telly become clearer, and you can make out a news report about something happening around the Han River.
"Chan, what does 'jasalhada' mean."
You look behind you to see that he's slumped back down on the bed with his hands behind his head.
"Umm, basically to take ones life or to kill yourself."
You nod as you finally close the door and make your way back into his arms.
"Why?"
"Oh, there was one near the Han River tonight."
He frowns and shakes his head.
"This is ridiculous. It's like the third one this month. The government really needs to put in better suicide prevention metho-"
"OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS CANNOT BE TRUE WHAT THE FUCK."
Changbin shouts on the top of his lungs, and it even from the bedroom the volume makes you jump. Glass shatters and there's hurried foot steps.
"What the heck is happening out there."
Chan mumbles under his breath. Someone let's out another loud yelp and he sighs again.
"Just a second, I'm gonna check up on them."
You release him from the hug, and he gets up groaning a bit when he does it too fast and hurts his back a bit. Just as he's about to open the door, it swings open from the other side, and a distressed Minho is standing in front of Chan with blood on his right hand.
"Oh my god, Minnie, what happened?"
You sit up hearing the worry in Chans voice and make your way over to them with speed. A singular tear runs down Minhos face as he tries to tell his hyung something, but no words come out of his mouth.
"Lee know, breath through your nose take your time."
Minho takes a massive gulp of air.
"There is no time, something happend to Hyunjin-ah."
It all comes more as a jumbled sequence of words but he grabs Chans arm and huridly drags him out of the room, not concerned for his bleeding hand. Following them out, everybody is already in the living room, hands over mouths, tears steaming down their faces. Confused, you turn to look at the television and the screen displays a live video of a scene taped off with police tape, officers and first aiders surrounding a mercadies van on a roof top car park that has smoke coming out of it. In the corner, an ID picture of blonde Hyunjin from the oddinary era. At the bottom, a banner displays the breaking news.
'STRAY KIDS HYUNJIN FOUND DEAD BY POLICE WITH CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING IN A CAR ON A ROOFTOP NEAR THE HAN RIVER - YET TO CONFIM IF SUICIDE'
and then it all just stopped, you had never thought it would come to this.
