The atmosphere in the room felt heavy, as if it had been shrouded in a funeral veil, despite the windows being open. Staff shifted in their seats, anticipating the arrival of Park Jinyoung to no avail. Your manager sits on the left sifting through relative contracts that would need to be terminated if the hiatus was lifted, but that seemed an unlikely chance if jyp couldnt even respectively show up to the meeting in the first place. Channie on the left, sighs heavily with a tone of agitation. Then the door finally opens, and he walks in with his assistant, who looks distressed, overworked, and annoyed at the same time.
Outside the rest of the boys, wait patiently in the practice room all on edge. Hyunjin paces back and forth, and the rest are sitting down either on the floor or on the black leather sofa in the corner. Tension was building, but nobody dared speak to break the silence that was haunting them. Seconds seemed to turn into minutes and minutes into hours. Jeongin is lying on Lee Knows lap adamant about not falling asleep, Hyunjin, on the floor in the middle with his arms and legs spread out turning his head to face the others finally breaking the silence
"How long has it been?"
His voice cracks slightly on the last word as if he was holding in tears. Felix looks up at the clock above the door and holds up two fingers, afraid that if he will speak, he may march down there himself. Hyunjin nods. He's not sure if he can stand waiting any longer, and at that exact moment, the handle on the door turns, and chan walks in head low by you. Everyone stands up almost immediately and crowds around you in hope. Felix asks
"So - how did it go?"
You look at everyone with a wide smile.
"I'm participating in the comeback!"
Hyunjin practically jumps in the air, screaming 'no way', and suddenly, the previously tense atmosphere has disappeared. Everyone goes in for a group hug, you can't tell who it is but somebody kisses you cheek - probably Han. After a few minutes, we break away, and Chan adds.
"It turns out the the stocks were falling, and he couldn't afford not having her participate. What a way to cause drama."
Everybody agrees, nodding their heads.
"By way, guys, someone's gonna have to reteach the choreography to me. I haven't practised in weeks, lol."
Felix laughs at you, having taught you the choreo before.
"Haha, I don't mind going through it. We still have a lot of time."
