I'm sorry.

Liz

"This is the layout of the area."

I pointed at my hand drawn map. I'd drawn it in as much detail as I'd remembered. Many of it was colored black but we'd tried our best.

"Why is this part black?" Isaac questioned.

"We don't know what it looks like. Jaylah and I tried our best with the mapping but we haven't been everywhere."

"I still don't think that this is a good idea..." Lydia argued with a distant look "Something just doesn't feel right."

"Lydia we have to attack. We can't wait around for them to regroup and attack us."

"I know, I know. It just doesn't feel right."

"I've got a solid plan. Trust me." I reassured her "We'll split up in three elite groups. The first group, Derek, Mr Argent and Scott, you'll be attacking this house." I pointed at one of the two side houses "Once you've cleared that house you'll climb from the roof to the main building and start clearing the second floor."

"Peter, Jaylah and Allison. You guys are the second group. You should be able to take down the other house and potentially join the others when you're done. Cora and Isaac are with me. We'll begin on the first floor of the main building and work our way up." I looked up to their concentrated faces. "Questions? Objections? Anything?"

"Looks like you've got it figured out." Mr Argent remarked "What do we do when we get overrun by them? We shouldn't split up, it lowers our own defense."

"It's not like you're going in alone. Besides, our advantage is the element of surprise. We'll lose that when we stay together."

"I think Liz has a point." Allison commented.

"Everyone agrees then?" Mr Argent turned to me after no one objected, "It's on you if something happens."

"Yeah I know."

"Good luck and see you soon." I smiled at Derek as we said our goodbyes. Cora and Isaac were already waiting for me at the edge of the forest. Cora had already said her goodbye to Derek and a quick wave in the general direction of Peter whereas Isaac had just wandered off by himself.

Derek shook his head noticeably and pulled me in for a kiss. His arms wrapped around my waist just long enough for me to get a little warmer in the cold evening's air. It was sweet but short and before I knew it, his warmth had left my side as he wished me good luck.

With a deep breath I walked over to Cora. "So tell us the truth," Cora began when we started walking into the forest, leaving the warmth and comfort of the others behind "How much danger are we really in? What can we expect once we enter the house?"

"Well to be honest, it could be exactly like I told you guys. It could be just fine... or potentially a lot worse."

I could feel their curious eyes drill holes in the back of my head as I lead them through the forest, making sure we'd end up on exactly the right spot. "You see, the last time I was here, I got my information from Jaylah. She'd been at the house numerous times and yet she underestimated the amount of guards. I think there might've been an other... 'group', or whatever we should call it, that day. I don't know how close they are to Gerrit's. So yeah, it can go either way. They could be mad at our target for not being protected as well as he promised or they could be mad at me for killing their people."

"On what would you bet your money?"

"Honestly, I don't know. There seemed to be some tension between the two of them when I was there but I don't know who they'll side with. Just to be safe, be prepared for more."
