I sat in front of my house. Still about an hour before my dad would come home. He'd already eaten with some colleagues of his at some Japanese restaurant nearby his workplace. I was told to do the laundry and clean up the house and only after he'd approved my work, I was allowed to eat. Knowing him I knew that it was very likely that I just wouldn't eat tonight.
At around 8 PM, the doorbell rang. It had always been people my dad knew so I sneaked to the laundry room and eavesdropped. If my dad received guest, they were not allowed to see me and if they accidentally did, I had to be gone as fast as possible. 'Just make something up like that you have homework to do' he'd said.
"I'm here to pick up your daughter." A familiar voice said to my father. It was the stair-guy from school! No way, this is what they meant with 'solve'?! I'll get in so much trouble for this!
I ran down the stairs until I saw them. My dad just stood in the door opening looking bewildered. He'd probably never expected this to happen. The stair-guy stood outside. He was wearing a black tight shirt which didn't leave much for the imagination and a purple loose-hanging button-up shirt. His jeans were dark, baggy and slightly ripped with a silver chain hanging from the side.
I shivered at the cold air coming into the house but the guy was dressed like it was summer. An optimistic beginning of the autumn at least. Behind him stood a beautiful shiny black Audi. It looked as if it was brand new and the engine was running. He didn't seem to mind the cold and his eyes fell on me. He shook his head disapprovingly.
"You aren't even dressed nicely." he commented.
"She's not going anywhere." my dad replied simply.
"I beg to differ." he repeated again.
"I'm not going anywhere with you." I said loud enough for my dad and him both to hear and quickly whispered: "You've already caused me a lot of trouble by showing up here." I whispered it low enough to see if he could hear me. They were clearly not human. Would they also have hearing like mine?
He tilted his head slightly at my whisper comment but didn't reply. Instead he sighed annoyed and stepped closer to my dad. For just a second I thought he was gonna snap his neck. For an other second I was hoping he would. But he didn't do anything other than ignore him and brush past him like he didn't exist. "You're lucky that Sophia and Emily always come prepared. I'll make a few calls and make sure that you'll be prepared."
"What the- Get out of my house!" My dad roared in anger. "You're entering my private property here son."
"Will you shut up, I'm making a phone call!" he shouted at my dad. Both my dad and I winced at his voice. How did he do that? Only Peter has ever made me wince by talking. But this guy isn't even a werewolf! How did he do that?!
The person on the other end of his phone answered and without any greetings the stair-guy began to talk. Both me and my dad were eyeing him in bewilderment. This highschool-looking nitwit started speaking fluent Italian to the person over the phone. I had no idea what he was saying.
"inviargli il presente qui con il loro kit di emergenza."
"sì, è necessario."
"Senza fare domande! Sapranno cosa fare." He said on a demanding tone and hung up.
"They'll be here in 5 minutes." He said and plopped on the couch.
Both me and my dad were still thinking about what the fuck just happened as I shivered from a cold wind that blew from the still open door. I blinked a couple of times to get my brain together and closed the door.
"Your car is still running." I told him.
"I know."
Okay... So I guess I'm going to that party if I want to or not. Oh AND of course get in trouble later on for this entire situation.
