Gerrit nodded once to Peter and left the loft leaving us alone.

I relaxed slightly and stood up a bit more straight than I was before. Even though my stance wasn't on high alert anymore, it would take a while for me to stop freaking out.

"That was your business partner?" Derek asked Peter skeptically.

"Yes, he is. And so far he's delivered." Peter said as he walked away from his bags and got himself a drink.

"Delivered what? Dead bodies?" Derek asked skeptically and walked after Peter while I froze up.

"He's delivered us Liz."

"That's not how she remembers it." Derek countered and looked behind him at me.

"He wasn't there in person, no." Peter said as he poured the liquor in the glass.

I stayed silent and tried to focus on their conversation but my mind kept wandering.

I don't want to tell them.

I should tell them.

I promised myself to tell them when Peter came back.

But it's so soon!

I should tell them.

They don't need to know.

Of course they need to know. You'd want to know if there was such a horrible person in your group of friends. They deserve to know.

My thoughts were interrupted by the door slamming closed and Damien's scent leaving the room.

"So how far are you guys on catching the infamous murderer?" Peter asked as he sat back in one of the chairs with a drink in his hand.

"It's a girl-"

"A girl? Interesting..." Peter said intrigued.

"Liz found it." Derek added.

Peter's head slowly turned to me. His eyes were prying into my soul until I realized that he probably wanted some more info on how I'd discovered it.

"Uh... Isaac wanted to take me to the murder scene but there were a lot of cops so instead he showed me where she'd run off to... I uh... saw her shoe print and it had a heel... so... yeah..." I said vaguely as his staring made me nervous. It felt like I had to prove something to him or as if he was questioning me without even asking something.

Peter tilted his head and stared at me with the same prying eyes. "Why couldn't Isaac find it?"

You needed a lot of tracking training to see it. "It was hard to find."

"Then how did you find it?" Peter asked patiently as he played with the drink in his hands. I couldn't explain why but the air in the room suddenly felt thicker. As if it was becoming more and more dangerous by the second.

Don't worry. They've trained you. Dangerous is your specialty. Just keep it together and never show a weakness.

"I am good at focusing."

Peter nodded slowly and looked down to his glass. For nearly 5 whole seconds he didn't utter a word. Suddenly he lifted his arm and launched his glass at me.

Everything happened quite fast after that. Since I'd felt the tension in the air, I'd been ready for anything so with easy I dodged it by leaning to my left. Derek, who'd been watching us with his arms crossed, sprang to a fighting stance and got ready to pounce Peter if he would do something else.

But Peter wasn't impressed, he was more intrigued than anything. Behind me I heard the glass shatter but I knew better than to turn around to see if it hit anything. Never turn your back on a potential threat.

"You see, Gerrit" Peter began totally ruining the Dutch pronunciation of 'Gerrit', "he informed me on some things." Peter stood up and slowly walked towards me. Taking the time for each step he took. "He couldn't be sure where you'd end up and he couldn't tell me much. But what he did say was that if you came back, you'd be most valuable."

"Valuable how?" I said dangerously and refusing to back away from Peter who kept approaching.

"I'm not gonna sell you if that's what you're thinking. Not value in money, well... I could sell you off to other packs if you can really do what he's said you can. But I won't. I'm far more interested in the skills."

Peter stopped about a meter in front of me. All my senses were on high alert. If he wanted to kill me, he'd have a good shot from this close to me. Plus he's an alpha so he's stronger and faster.

"Peter," Derek said warningly "back away from her."

"Oh but dear nephew, didn't you notice anything weird in her skills since she's been back? Not one tiny change?" Peter said as he turned his head to Derek.

His throat is unprotected, I could- No shut up brain! He's not a target!

I could see that even though Derek wanted to protect me, he did also wanted to find out why I'd suddenly improved so much over such a short time.

"She'll tell us when she's ready." Derek stated firmly.

"Ah but you see Derek, we don't have time for that." Peter said and turned back to me.

"What do you mean 'no time'? There's no time pressure." Derek asked while Peter didn't turn around.

"If my information is correct, she's able to stop the murderess. And I would like to have a little talk with her about that." Peter said threateningly.
