Kumalas sya sa akin at naupo sa couch, sa mismong tabi ko at pinagsiklop ang mga kamay namin dalawa.
Dinantay ko ang ulo ko sa balikat nya at ngumiti. Nabawasan ang bigat ng dibdib ko dahil nakapag usap na kami kahit papano.
"I'll court you." - dagdag ko pa na ikina lingon nya sa akin.
"Stop it. Hindi pa ako nakaka move on sa date in public mo." - masungit na sabi nya.
Hinaplos ko ang pisnge nya at hinalikan saka ako tumayo kaya pati kamay nya natangay ko dahil ayaw nya bumitaw.
"I'll get change."
Umiling sya at hinila ako hanggang sa mapaupo ako sa kandungan nya. Nag init ang mukha ko dahil lumapat na naman sa leeg ko ang labi nya para sa isang mabilis na halik.
"Kakagaling mo lang sa sakit. Ayaw kong..ayaw kong mahimatay ka ulit sa pagod."
My brows knitted as I moved away to stare at her face, realising something as my memory gave me some idea.
"You're the one who took care of me," - I said, sounding so sure that it's her.
She cutely looked away with reddened cheeks and cleared her throat.
"H-Hindi ah."
"Sus!" - I chuckled and pinched her nose, which made her groan.
Divorce pala pero nag aalala naman sa akin. Gusto ko pa sana mang asar pero ayaw ko naman na biglang mag bago ang mood nya.
"Grei?"
"Hmm?"
"Kailan bumalik ang memories mo?"
Ramdam kong nanigas sya sa kinauupuan nya dahil medyo humigpit ang yakap nya sa bewang ko.
"It's alright if you don't want to tell me. I understand."
"Sa hacienda pero wag na natin pag usapan pa. Ayaw ko ng maalala pa kung pano ko sinira ang buhay nyo ng pamilya mo."
I didn't bother to retaliate; I respect her. I know it's a sensitive topic anyway, and it might trigger her guilt again.
I cupped her cheeks and stared at her sad eyes. I gave her a reassuring smile and kissed her forehead.
"Let's call this a day. I'll date you tomorrow."
"How about your work?"
"Lara had me covered, so don't worry."
"People will gossip about you if they see you going around instead of working," - she reasoned out.
I chuckled and stood straight in front of her. "I know the consequences of my actions, and I'm prepared, so don't worry about my career."
"That's your dream, even before I came, so don't stop pursuing it just because of me."
"I know, honey!" - I said, tapping her shoulder. "I already pursued it. Now I'm down to another dream of mine."
"Huh?" - she asked, clueless.
"I'm pursuing my other dream, which is you."
Her jaw dropped, and I almost laughed at her reaction. I left her office with a wide smile plastered on my face.
