You try to made a joke to lighten the mood but nobody laughed, fake asses. Trey looks at you disappointed as you clear your throat, "How are you doin' Trey?"
Cater who was sitting by Trey's bed looks back at you four with a smile before waving, "Well, if it isn't Hunting Season! And Grim and Y/N too! You're rolling deep today."
"Hey, Cater... I'm lost. Whaddaya mean by "Hunting Season"?" Ace awkwardly questions. "I mean it's you guys! You're Ace, he's Deuce—that's what you call an A-Deuce in poker!" Cater responds.
"Don't be lazy!"
Ace rubs the back of his head, "Riiight... Anyway, how d'you feel, Trey? And how'd you get hurt?" Trey sits up in his bed before answering nonchalantly. "I slipped down the stairs."
You snort at his calm answer and cover your mouth, "... Butter my biscuits."
He chuckles, "It's fine Y/N, but it looks like I'll be warming the bench at the Spelldrive tournament this year." Grim let's out a cat sound and slowly approaches Trey.
"... I was hopin' your injury would be small enough for me to justify keepin' this, but... Here. I brought ya a get-well can of tuna." He looks way from Trey embarassed, "Feel better, specs."
You were in awe at the sight, your baby Grim was finally startin' to care for others! The green haired boy thanks Grim with a smile. "Heh. Thanks."
"Ugh, hashtag #fail! Now that we've lost a power player, we have to redo our team roster!" Cater sulks before you all turn your attention to the door.
"Why are there so many people in here? Trey is supposed to be resting!" Riddle states, making Grim put his paws in the air, "Myah! It's Ragin' Riddle!"
"Howdy, Puzzle." You tease as he rolls his eyes, "Ha ha, very funny Calvados." (Puzzle=opposite of Riddle, Calvados=opposite of Applejack)
"And Grim I am not "raging." I will be perfectly pleasant if you obey the rules!" He yells before turning to look at Trey, "How are you doing, Trey? Can I bring you anything to eat or drink?"
"I told you, Riddle: you don't need to fuss over me like this."
"But it's my fault that you got hurt."
----Flashback
"I'm going to be late today, so go ahead and start practice without me." Riddle says as Trey jokingly salutes, "Sure, will do."
Riddle nods and starts making his way towards the stairs but as soon as he steps on the first step his feet start going haywire, "All right, I'll see you— Wh-whoooa!"
"Riddle, look out!" Trey jumps to his rescue as he sees Riddle about to fall, shielding him but ended up hurting his foot in the process.
