Entering the apartment, Jin waited beside Taehyung to learn which room was his. When the alpha pointed to the room in the corner, Jin ran off, shutting the door and locking it without saying another word to Taehyung, who stood there as confused as ever not knowing what to do with Jin.

Taehyung found it difficult to deal with the situation. He was unsure and well aware that he wasn't ready for a mate, but the two weeks without Jin were excruciating. He could only imagine what it was like for Jin. By the end, he decided that, for better or worse, he would bring Jin to stay with him. At least if they were close, it might tone things down a bit, and the mating mark would heal carefully.

The truth is, Taehyung did like Seokjin in the beginning, but when the omega resisted, he decided not to act on his feelings. He told himself he wouldn't ruin what they had over feelings he assumed weren't mutual. Over time, he saw Seokjin become clingy and chase him around, but it didn't occur to him that the omega had fallen for him. Taehyung's feelings for Jin diminished as he disliked Jin's lifestyle—drinking, smoking, and mental health issues. These were foreign to him. "Why wouldn't he eat if he had food?" he wondered, seeing it as being ungrateful and privileged. Because no one deprived of these would actually starve themselves purposefully.

One week after Jin told him off, Taehyung decided not to reach out. However, after two days, he became restless, afraid to admit he missed Seokjin. When his rut came, it became clear to him. "Perhaps this is why I was so anxious?" In a rut haze, he went to Jin's house, and they ended up having sex.

Jin was sober and could have stopped him. That's what Taehyung wanted to accuse Jin of. But deep down, he knew he ended up mating Jin because his alpha instincts took over. He would have gone ahead with it even if the omega had resisted. He found disgusting and barbaric. A part of him was grateful Jin had not tried to stop him.

Taehyung stared at Jin's bedroom door for some time before going to the kitchen to cook for both of them. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to sleep if Jin didn't eat. He cooked and went to Seokjin's room, knocking continuously but receiving no answer. Using a spare key, he found Seokjin passed out on the bed, surrounded by empty alcohol bottles.

He picked up and discarded the bottles, putting the food away. His efforts felt wasted. Anger took over him. He felt this was perhaps the biggest mistake of his life and one he would regret forever.

The next day went uneventfully. Jin hadn't emerged from his room, and Taehyung wasn't home all day. On the fourth day, Jimin showed up, obviously, at Taehyung's call. Although all of their friends were supposed to come, he decided to deal with Jimin first.

"Where is he?" Jimin asked, disappointment evident in his voice. Taehyung pointed to Jin's room. Jimin walked to the door, knocked multiple times, but got no answer. "I have the spare keys. He'll never open the door by himself."

"Has he even eaten?" Jimin asked, concerned, grabbing the keys to open the door.

"No, he has not. I don't even think he drank water," Taehyung replied nonchalantly, making Jimin angry.

"You're a fucking bastard, Taehyung. He's your mate. You should at least feel some empathy."

"And do you think I don't? He hisses at me if I try to approach him. He doesn't eat even if I serve him. I tried, alright? Before I gave up because he's crazy, a lost cause," Taehyung said aloud. Jimin glared at him.

"Fuck off. Leave the apartment for some time. Return when everyone comes tonight, alright?"

Jimin opened the door to Jin's room and found him on the floor, clutching his stomach. "Hi," he whispered. Walking over, he found Jin covered in blood. "Why are you bleeding?"

"I don't know," Jin sighed. "I'll go wash up," he said, trying to get up. Jimin, on the other hand, went outside to catch Taehyung before he left.

"Go and bring a doctor," he said to Taehyung.

"Why?" Taehyung looked at the omega, confused.

"Can't you tell he's in pain, he is bleeding?"

"I can. That's our unborn child. I think he didn't miscarry completely back then, but now he probably did," Taehyung clicked his tongue, his voice trailing off.

"Both of you have lost your minds. Go bring a doctor," Jimin insisted before returning to Jin's room. Entering the washroom, he said, "Let me help you," taking the scrub from Jin's hands and washing off the blood.

"Seokjin?" He looked up and found the omega crying. "How do I fix myself?" Jin asked. "I tried, but then he came in, and I was back to zero again," he hiccupped. Jimin looked at Jin's frail state, looking utterly vulnerable infront of him.

"Jin, do you love Taehyung?" Jimin asked to which Jin nodded jn reply to, "Then why are you pushing him away when he tries to help?"

"His efforts are empty. He doesn't mean it. The day after he mated me, he was out with another omega. I waited all day for him to come back," Jin clutched his hair, "I'm so sorry. I'm just so tired of everything and myself."

"I do think Taehyung worsens your mental health, but Jin, your issues aren't mainly stemming from Taehyung. I love you, alright? Now listen to me. I need you to stop drinking and smoking, get a therapist, and work on yourself." He held Jin's hands. "Please, do this for me. I only wish well for you."

"Have you eaten?" Jimin asked, and Jin quietly said no. "Alright, first things first, let's eat. Taehyung is getting you a doctor who will check up on you."

Jin ate because Jimin almost forced him to. He hated it when someone did this, but he understood he needed to be forced or he would pass out.

A few minutes into eating, Taehyung walked back into the apartment. "The doctor will be here soon. Also, I am leaving. Jimin, call me before you leave."

"He's going to go fuck with that whore again," Jin whispered loud enough for Taehyung to hear. As expected, the alpha turned around.

"I'm telling you, Seokjin, shut your da—"

Jimin got up and shut Taehyung up. "Go do your business. This is your first task, not to lash out at him, alright? This will only provoke him more—"

"What is he, an ani—" Taehyung hissed, but Jimin again told him to shut up. "Leave already."

After Taehyung exited, Jimin closed the door and turned to Jin, who looked disgusted by the sight of food in front of him.
