"Are both of them alright?" Mrs. Kim questioned Jimin urgently as soon as she entered the house.

"Yes, they're alright," Jimin reassured her. "In fact, they're cuddling together right now. Seokjin has come out of his heat, and Taehyung seems to be doing better, too."

"They're together?" Mrs. Kim repeated, shocked. Given how difficult Taehyung's rut usually was, this was unexpected. "He really manages to pull Taehyung together. What went wrong?" she asked, setting the groceries down on the countertop.

Jimin followed her closely and sat beside her when she moved to the couch. "A lot went wrong, especially on Taehyung's side," he admitted.

Mrs. Kim took a deep breath, steadying herself. "Tell me exactly what he did," she instructed with her voice firm.

"They had an arrangement, friends with benefits, no strings attached," Jimin began, trying to explain delicately. "Taehyung developed feelings for Seokjin, but it was against the rules they had set. So, when he realized his feelings, he decided to act cold and distant."

Seokjin was in love with Taehyung, too, but Taehyung's push and pull really affected him. It hurt his mental health to the point where he struggled to get through the day. Eventually, Seokjin ended their arrangement. Taehyung didn't take it well and showed up at Seokjin's house during his last rut. Even though Seokjin was conscious, he let Taehyung mate with him.

The next morning, Taehyung was gone. Two weeks later, when Taehyung finally visited Seokjin, he found out that Seokjin had miscarried. Then, Taehyung asked Seokjin to move in with him, and here we are," Jimin concluded, his voice heavy with the weight of the story.

I'd say it was mostly Taehyung's fault, but Jin had his share of mistakes, too. The misunderstandings between them played a huge role. What's worse is that neither of them tried to fix things. After Taehyung had mated with Jin, he was seen out with another omega the next day. Taehyung hadn't been intimate with anyone else besides Jin, but he never told Seokjin that. So, Jin assumed the worst every time Taehyung interacted with another omega."

"I can't believe I gave birth to a dickhead," Mrs. Kim exclaimed, burying her head in her hands. "This is ridiculous. He should've never been in such an arrangement to begin with. This isn't the person I raised."

Jimin understood that the generational gap made all of this sound much worse to her. "It's how people do things these days. Taehyung and Jin just didn't handle their feelings for each other properly. But they're working on it. I'm sure they'll find a way out of their misery."

She nodded in agreement, muttering hopefully, "I need to leave tomorrow. Taehyung's dad can't manage alone any longer."

"I'm sure they'll be up in a while to see you off," Jimin replied reassuringly. "I'll get going now; Jungkook is waiting for me downstairs." He smiled warmly, bowing to say goodbye.

"Thank you for coming by, Jimin-ah," she said, patting his back affectionately. "Visit me someday with your alpha. I'd love to meet him."

"I will, Mrs. Kim," Jimin promised before heading out.

Two hours later, Seokjin and Taehyung finally stirred, slowly waking up to find themselves entangled in each other's arms.

"Hey," Taehyung said softly, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Did your rut end?" Jin asked, his voice groggy.

"Probably, yeah," Taehyung replied, nuzzling closer. "I feel a lot better."

They stared into each other's eyes, a small smile playing on Taehyung's lips.

"What are you looking at?" Jin frowned.

"I'm looking at how beautiful you are up close," Taehyung replied softly, gently brushing the hair off Seokjin's forehead and pulling him closer, their forheads nearly touching.

"Tae, I can't breathe," Jin protested, though his tone was more affectionate than annoyed.

But Taehyung didn't let go. He pulled Jin even closer, squeezing him tightly in a warm hug.

"Your mother is outside," Jin groaned, writhing in the alpha's hold to get free. "Just a few more seconds," Taehyung murmured.

A few more seconds turned into ten minutes, and Jin eventually wriggled free, annoyed, and stomped out of Taehyung's room to freshen up. As he reached his room's door, he found Mrs. Kim waiting. He greeted her awkwardly.

"I want to talk to you, Seokjin," she said, taking his arm and guiding him into the room.

"Sure, I'm listening," Seokjin began, but he couldn't complete the sentence as Mrs. Kim engulfed him in a hug. The mother-son duo was certainly affectionate today.

"Is everything alright, Mrs. Kim?" he asked, returning the hug.

"I want to apologize to you," she said softly.

"For what?" Jin asked, pulling away from the hug, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"Because I owe you one. For my son, Seokjin-ah," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "I'm truly sorry that he has treated you any less than you deserve and has put you through a lot of pain."

Jin observed that she genuinely looked distressed and troubled. "It's fine, really. This is between us. It has nothing to do with you or the way you raised Taehyung. He's an excellent person; I failed to bring that out of him. Please don't take the blame for something that isn't your fault," he said, clearing his throat, trying to steady his emotions. This conversation was unsettling for him.

"You didn't fail to bring out the good in him, Seokjin. Don't say that," she says, her voice tinged with disappointment. "You're an amazing and hardworking person, Seokjin. I'm sure your parents are really proud of you."

Jin blinks rapidly to keep his tears at bay, biting his lips in an effort to stifle a whimper. Despite his best efforts, a sob escapes him.

She pulls Seokjin into a comforting hug. "Even if you and Taehyung drift apart, you'll always have me, Seokjin. So don't hesitate to turn to me." She gently wipes the tears from his cheeks. "You'll be alright."

As they embraced, they heard Taehyung calling from the living room. When he saw his mother and Seokjin stepping out of the room together, he looked puzzled. "Is everything alright?" he asked.

"Yeah," Jin replied, trying to sound nonchalant, though his red-rimmed eyes made Taehyung worry.

"I'm sorry, Eomma. I wanted you to rest while you were here, but you ended up taking care of grown adults in heat and rut," he apologizes, reaching out to his mother.

"It's alright," she reassures him. "But I need to go back. Your dad can't manage on his own anymore. Book me a flight for tomorrow."

"How about I drop you off?" Taehyung suggests, holding her hands.

"Sure, if you want to. You can see your dad as well," she agrees.

Seokjin stands behind them, feeling awkward as he watches the interaction, missing his own parents deeply.

"Can you not join us, Seokjin?" Taehyung's mother asks, turning to him. Before he can respond, Taehyung interjects, "He has a personal schedule-"

"I'll join you both," Jin replies, making Taehyung look at him with wide eyes, confused by the omega's sudden change of heart.

"Sure, if you want to," Taehyung says, shrugging it off. "We'll leave tomorrow before 7 a.m. I'll rest until then; I'm tired because of the rut."
