"Twenty days sober," Taehyung says out loud, marking the date in his diary.
"That's impressive," Jimin comments, looking over his shoulder. "I'm glad Jin-hyung is recovering. You're doing a great job, Taetae."
"I'm glad it's working out, although I do wish he'd start speaking to me more. He only talks when it's something really important. Other than that, he hardly says a word, especially to me," Taehyung replies, a sad smile settling on his face.
"How about we all hang out together?" Jungkook suggests.
"I don't think he's ready for that yet, Kook," Taehyung says, his tongue clicking thoughtfully. "Otherwise, I would've invited you guys over. How about we meet at your place instead of a movie? That way, he doesn't have to interact much with anyone else and might open up a bit more."
"Wow, you're really a therapist," Jimin chuckles. "Sure."
"Don't put it that way. I'm nowhere near a therapist. I'm just helping him. It's also his parents' death anniversary next weekend, and I plan on taking him to visit Daegu," Taehyung explains.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's just nice to see you being so considerate. In the beginning, despite my constant nagging, you refused to understand why he couldn't just eat," Jimin says.
"He gained 1 kg," Taehyung smiles widely. "This all seems so unreal. I thought I'd lost him forever that day, Jimin. I don't want to ever lose Jin-hyung, not to anything unfortunate. I wish for him to be happy and lead a healthy life, even if it's without me in it. I can't bring myself to forgive my past mistakes, and I do get tired sometimes. Putting in so much effort takes a toll on me, and I knew from the start that none of this would be reciprocated, but it's still very hard for me." Fat tears roll down Taehyung's cheeks as he clenches his fist tightly around the diary.
Jimin steps forward and envelops his friend in a hug. "It'll be alright, Taetae," he whispers. "You can always come to us and break down, vent, cry your heart out. Don't keep it to yourself. I know it's hard to constantly try to fix someone and build a future. The good part here is that Jin is trying as hard as you are. I didn't expect him to comply so easily with you, but he is. It means he's willing to give you both a chance. Soon, he'll start speaking to you, okay? So don't give up."
Jimin's words bring Taehyung comfort. "I thought I was your best friend," Jungkook complains, looking up from his mobile screen.
"Then maybe you should be comforting him instead of being on your phone," Jimin throws a pillow in his boyfriend's direction.
"Ah, stop," Jungkook groans.
"Get away from him," Jungkook says, pulling Jimin away from Taehyung and hugging him instead. "Yeah, this feels right."
Jimin pretends to gag as he joins the hug. "Alright, both of you, get off me. I need to go pick Seokjin up. He must be free from his schedule."
When he arrives to pick Jin up, Taehyung finds everyone clearing up the set. He steps out of the car and approaches a staff member. "Do you know where Seokjin might be?"
She looks shocked at first but composes herself before answering, "He's in the vanity bus with the team. They're planning to go clubbing."
Immediately, Taehyung sees red. Seokjin can't be drinking. He goes up to the vanity bus and attempts to call Seokjin. When the omega picks up the call and steps out of the bus, Taehyung can sense his tension. "Hey, you're going clubbing?" He holds Jin by his shoulders. "Will you be fine?"
Jin knows what has Taehyung been so worried. "You can come along. I was going to text you anyway."
Relief washes over Taehyung. "That's better." He wipes the sweat off Jin's cheeks. "Did you eat?"
