Three Years Later

"Appa still hasn’t come?"

Taehyung glanced at his daughter for what felt like the hundredth time, offering her a soft smile. "Not yet, sweetheart," he said, watching her pout before getting distracted again.

They had been waiting at the airport for over forty minutes, anticipating Seokjin’s return from filming. Their son, cradled in Taehyung’s arm, remained quiet, while their daughter, ever impatient, kept repeating the same question every thirty seconds.

"I don’t know why your appa is so late," Taehyung murmured to himself, gently rubbing their son's back. He leaned down to plant a kiss on the boy’s forehead, making him stir slightly.

"Appa, kiss me too?" One of the twins piped up.

"Me too!" The other immediately echoed, staring at him intently.

Taehyung sighed, amused at how in sync they always were. "Come here," he said, kissing both girls on the forehead, earning satisfied giggles.

"I think we should ask about the flight delay," he mused, adjusting the boy in his arms and motioning for the twins to walk ahead. "Be careful, and hold each other’s hands."

"Sticky hand," one of them muttered under her breath in protest.

Just as they were about to reach the inquiry counter, a familiar voice called out behind them.

"Taehyung!"

Before he could react, their daughters squealed and took off running. "Appa!" They crashed into Seokjin, wrapping their little arms around him.

"I missed you both so much," Jin murmured, pressing kisses into their hair.

"Missed you too, Appa!" they chorused in sync.

Taehyung met Jin’s eyes over their daughters’ heads, feeling the tension ease from his shoulders. Seokjin looked at him, relief and longing evident in his gaze. Taehyung didn’t waste another second, he reached forward, pulling his husband into a firm embrace.

"I missed you a lot," Jin whispered, burying his nose in Taehyung’s hair.

"Me too, love. But I think our little one here missed you the most." Taehyung shifted slightly, drawing attention to their son, who had yet to make a sound. "He’s been quiet since you left, as always."

Jin turned his gaze to their son, and his heart clenched. The little boy's eyes were filled with unshed tears, his lips trembling as he sniffled.

"My baby," Jin whispered, reaching out. The moment he took him into his arms, the boy broke into soft sobs, clinging onto him.

"Appa, please don’t leave again," the pup hiccupped between cries.

Jin’s throat tightened. "I won’t, baby. Appa is here with you," he soothed, rubbing slow circles on the boy’s back.

"Appa…" The child’s voice wavered with exhaustion. "Sleepy…"

"You can sleep now. Appa won’t go anywhere," Jin reassured him.

"Okay," the little boy mumbled before nuzzling closer and drifting off.

"Let’s go home," Taehyung said, scooping up the girls in his arms.

"Nayi is always crying," Roeun commented, glancing at her brother.

"Well, that’s how he expresses himself," Taehyung explained. "Just like how you two throw tantrums when you want something."

The twin’s nose scrunched up at the comparison. "That makes the three of us," Roi huffed.

Jin laughed, ruffling her hair. "No cookies for you."
