They had taken Luna to put her into the lake, luckily his bubblehead charm, as well as his warming charm held.
But he was pissed as hell, all four of the hostages were women, or girls, Luna, Granger, Cho Chang, and a little girl who looked like Fleur, so she might be her little sister. However, he was pissed because all four of them looked to be sleeping without any cover for their nose or mouth, and all four of them looked cold as hell.
He had gotten there first, it helped that other creatures stayed away from him.
Some grindylows had tried to attack him, but all he had to do was hiss at them and they had scurried away with little screams. Making his way towards the mervillage, he was surprised even the merpeople stayed away from him - he hoped it was because they were ordered too and not because they felt that he was something different than human.
If it ever got back to Dumbledore that he wasn't totally human anymore, he didn't want to thing about what it would mean and what the old man would do.
He shook his head and pulled out his wand, severing the seaweed rope that was holding Luna in place. As soon as he severed it, the girl started floating in the water.
Harry swam to her and grabbed her around the waist, hefting her upwards and towards where he was coming from, hoping to come up somewhere close to where he had gone into the water.
On the way back, he crossed Cedric, the older Hogwarts student gesturing to the direction Harry had come from. Harry just nodded, to let the older student know that he was going into the right direction.
After a thumbs up from the Hufflepuff, Harry swam towards the surface again, coming up just a few meters shy of the stands that had been magicked over the water.
Once above water, Luna woke up, sputtering and swimming like she had a cramp.
Worried, Harry helped her to the stands, grateful for Madame Pomphrey who was waiting there to help them out of the water. She wrapped Luna in a giant towel, much to the blond girl's amusement, and joy, as she had been shivering not long before.
Before Pomphrey could load him with a towel, Harry used a drying and temporary heating spell on himself. His permanent heating spell had worked, good enough, but he was still could from the water that was running over him.
Turning to Luna, he held out his wand in a silent question. The girl nodded, after which he cast the same spells on her, making her sigh as she was warm once more, as well as dry.
Nodding to the medi-witch, he took the Ravenclaw aside to make place for when the other champions came out of the water.
Cedric appeared not long after with Cho Chang, the other Ravenclaw girl shivering as well, while Cedric seemed to be fine, if not too happy he was so wet.
Victor Krum appeared after, with Hermione in his arms.
Harry had to scoff, they went to the Yule Dance together, but he wouldn't say this made her Victor's most precious person in the castle. Not when they went through the trouble of getting what was Fleur's sister all the way from France to serve as her 'hostage'.
Speaking about Fleur, the silvery blond was sitting close to her headmistress, without her hostage. A mystery which was solved when the merpeople brought the little girl with them as they came up - most likely signalling the end of the task.
After deliberating, and Dumbledore talking to what seemed to be the head of the merpeople in the Black Lake, the judges shot sparks in the air.
"After deliberating with Murcus, the Chieftainess of the merpeople, we are ready to give points to our champions,
