Harry grunted as he hit the ground hard, the cup flying out of his hand as he just lay flat on the ground, his jaw aching with the impact it made to the ground.
Looking around he took out his wand and cursed, no way this was remotely close to Hogwarts.
The last task had been going so well, even, he had been the first to enter, and thanks to a tracking spell he found in the Chamber he didn't walk into any dead ends, just the fastest path towards the centre of the maze.
He got into some obstacles, some blasted-ended screwts Hagrid had kept and nurtured to maturity, as well as anti-gravity mist, but he took care of those things easily enough. Even the Sphinx at the last turn had given him a riddle he solved without any problems.
The only thing that he hated, had been the mature acromantula that ambushed him in the open plane at the centre of the maze. He blasted it away in time, before it could do any damage though, but still. He had though he'd be transported to outside the maze when he felt the tug behind his navel signalling the cup was a portkey.
Yet, here he was, in some nameless graveyard, not a living soul around for miles.
Looking around his eyes fell onto a massive gravestone, adorned with three names: Tom Riddle, Patrick Riddle and Lisette Riddle née Mason. He swallowed thickly; these were the names if Voldemort's relatives.
Instantly in guard, he was aware of someone dragging something heavy after them, making him curious and approach, with caution.
Staying behind the gravestones, he could see a short, stout man dragging a massive cauldron behind him, once in the light of some of the lighting around the graveyard, he recognized Wormtail. Wanting to gasp, he slapped a hand over his mouth, hoping that he hadn't been heard.
He wasn't, luckily, as Wormtail went back to the manor Harry could see in the background, when he came back it was with a huge snake draped over him, as well as some deformed baby in his arms. As he looked at the baby, he noticed it had white skin, as well as red eyes, reminding him of the head he had once seen on the back of Quirrell's skull. This must be Voldemort then, looking around for the cup to get back to Hogwarts, he could curse as Voldemort's eyes landed on it.
"Wormtail, you moron, the boy is already here. Find him! Find and bring me Harry Potter."
Taking a deep breath, Harry waited until Wormtail was going the other direction to make a dash to the cup, hoping to get to it before anyone noticed.
However, his luck had run out, as the huge snake curled around it and hissed to Voldemort, making the man look up.
"Wormtail, you fool, he is already here."
Turning around, Harry dashed to the other side of the graveyard he knew Wormtail had gone, hoping to make it to the street he could see at the far side of the graveyard. If he ditched his robes, he could pass as a normal schoolboy, hoping someone there could help him get back to Hogwarts.
It wasn't much, but it was better than getting used in whatever Voldemort had been planning. Because from seeing the big cauldron everything from cooking him, to draining him of his blood went through his head, one scenario worse than the one before
However, he never made it to the street, a spell hitting him in the back making him black out.
Voldemort was still waiting for Wormtail, he hoped the moron wouldn't let the Potter boy escape, after all, he had waited so long for this moment, to have a body once more. He might just kill the little coward if he failed this part.
"Tom, that boy..."
Voldemort nodded, "Harry Potter, he was prophesied to defeat me. My supposed nemesis."
