Ishita PoV continues…

"I want to help you, as my grandson's life depends upon your fortune as his husband," she told me earnestly. Her words resonate deeply within me, stirring a mixture of emotions in my heart.

"Tell me, what should I do?" I asked her anxiously, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on me. I leaned in, eager to hear her advice, hoping that she held the key to navigating the complexities of my fate and ensuring the well-being of my loved ones.

She gave me a small smile and pulled me into a hug. "So... You don't hate him but still have feelings for my grandson," she asked softly, her words carrying a gentle curiosity and understanding. In that moment, held in her embrace, I felt a sense of vulnerability and honesty wash over me. With a nod, I affirmed her question, knowing that my feelings for her grandson remained unwavering despite the obstacles we faced.

"Happy to know," Grandma spoke, releasing me from the embrace with a gentle pat on the shoulder.  With a smile, I returned her gaze, grateful for her understanding and support in a moment of uncertainty.

"But you need to follow my words," she said, her hand resting reassuringly on my arm. I noticed the seriousness etched on her face, signalling the importance of her instructions. Without hesitation, I nodded my head, silently acknowledging my commitment to heed her guidance.

"Rishab and you need to perform a prayer on the upcoming full moon day at our old ancestral temple," she said with a solemn tone. As I listened, I felt a sense of reverence and responsibility settle over me, knowing that this task held deep meaning for both Rishab and me. With a nod of understanding, I silently pledged to fulfil this duty with sincerity and devotion, honouring the legacy of our forefathers and the bond between our families.

"Remember... Both of you need to stay for two to three days over there," she continued, her voice carrying a sense of solemnity and purpose.   With a solemn nod, I acknowledged her directive, silently preparing myself for the journey that lay ahead.

"Our ancestors used to visit every year to perform prayers. But after my mom's death and other reasons, we stopped visiting the temple..." she said sadly, her voice tinged with regret and sorrow. I could sense the weight of tradition and familial legacy that had been disrupted by the passage of time and life's hardships.

"We can talk about the rituals when you come to my place with Rishab. Meanwhile, I will arrange everything for the prayer at the ancestral temple," she said, her tone infused with a sense of determination and resolve.

Before I could ask further, Maanasi called my name, "Ishita..." Her voice broke through our conversation, signalling that it was time to attend to the present moment. With a nod to Grandma, acknowledging our discussion would continue later, I turned to Maanasi, ready to address whatever she needed. The interruption served as a reminder of the interconnectedness of our lives and the importance of attending to the needs of those around us.

"Mom is calling you and Rishab Anna," Maanasi informed before walking away. Her words prompted me to turn my attention to the present, realising that there were immediate matters to attend to. With a quick nod of acknowledgment, I followed Maanasi, ready to join Jhanu Aunty.

By the time I reached Jhanu Aunty, Rishab was already present there. I lowered my face, unable to meet his gaze, knowing that my actions had caused him pain. Despite the heaviness in my heart, I resolved to face the situation with courage.
