“I leave for a month and it seems like everything goes to hell!” Cassandra huffed, throwing herself on my bed dramatically and I couldn't help but laugh.

Cassandra just got home yesterday from her month-long trip to California. With everything that's happened it felt like she had only left yesterday, so having her here now is pretty great. I actually missed her while she was away.

This last month hasn't been the greatest with everything going on with Derek's dad, considering we still haven't found him after I was attacked at my family's summer cabin. We think he might've fled the state which means that the only thing the police could do was issue an arrest warrant for Tennessee and a few surrounding states.

Derek is fully healed from his stab wound and I no longer have a concussion to prohibit me from working out again- thank God.

Derek and I have started going to the gym together regularly and I've been giving him some pointers on self defense. When we aren't working out, we're studying, trying to get caught up on all the school work we've missed with everything that was going on at the time. Though sometimes those study sessions turn into heavy makeout sessions.

Much to Jeremy’s dismay.

“Well not everything…”

"Oh, that's right! How is everything between you and Mr. Wilder? Have you guys done the deed yet?” Cas asked with a wiggle of her brows and a sly smirk.

"Cas, what the fuck? No!” I gawked, throwing the pillow closest to me at her face and laughing when she fell off my bed trying to dodge it.

“Ouchie! Alice, what was that for?” She whined, pulling herself back into the bed with a pout, rubbing a hand over her bruising side.

“You know what that was for.” I reprimanded while trying not to laugh as I pointed an accusing finger at her. She just rolled her eyes before sticking out her tongue in a childish manner, though I didn't miss the crinkle in her blue eyes.

“How are you doing? You haven't told me how Cali was,” I asked, hoping to change the subject away from mine and Derek’s nonexistent sex life.

I'm not ready for something like that yet and Derek has been very patient about it, which I've appreciated more than anything.

“Ugh, don't even get me started!" Cassandra rolled her eyes as she threw herself down onto my bed again, lying on her back as she glared at my ceiling.

“Let me guess… no cute boys?”

"None! Nada! Zilch! Ze-ro!" She nearly yelled in frustration, throwing her arms into the air with an aggravated sigh and I laughed shaking my head.

“We didn't even get to go to the beach!- and they had the gall to call themselves a ‘retreat’. Retreats are supposed to be relaxing and fun- not boring and well- boring!”
