"No."
"what? Why not?" Derek pouted, following close behind me as I slipped past him.
"Because I've already missed 3 days of school and I need to get the work I missed." I rolled my eyes with a sigh, I don't know why I felt the need to explain this to him.
"Fine." He sighed, speeding up so he was walking next to me again.
We walked into math class and sat down at the back together. I didn't know he even had this class. Though I guess I did leave early on Friday.
"We can go after school. It won't kill you to wait." I rolled my eyes when I noticed him slouching in his seat with a scowl on his face.
"I don't know, Red. It actually might." He smirked, running his fingers through his hair.
I rolled my eyes, "Drama queen."
"Nah, that's Jeremy. " Derek quipped, leaning his head against the palm of his hand as he stared at me.
"Where is he anyway?"
I don't actually care, I just don't want him asking me about why I wasn't in school. He thinks I was sick, so I hope that'll be enough to satiate his need for answers I refuse to give.
"Why you got a crush on him?" He asked with an oddly cold look in his eyes that surprised me for a moment.
What the hell's his problem?
"God no! I would rather give myself a million papercuts then douse myself in hand sanitizer." I gagged, scowling at Derek as he howled in his seat, laughing so hard he's crying.
" Relax it was a joke, you should've seen your face! He's just skipping."
" Didn't you guys just transfer, like, Friday?"
" Yup."

"you ready to go?" I asked, slamming my locker closed as Derek lazily strolled over to me with his hands in his pockets.
"Been ready since sunday." He smirked and I rolled my eyes, following him out of the building.
It's the last week of August, but you would think that today was the middle of July with how hot it is. I thought that the weather had started to chill because of how cool it had been earlier this week, but I guess not.
