He didn't know that the drink in his hands was laced with roofies. He had gotten it from Jack who was standing by the table filled with various alcohol.

“You see that strawberry blonde over there?” Jack had asked, eyeing a pretty-looking strawberry blonde. ”The one with the flowy skirt and leather jacket.” he added, easing his search for the girl in question.

“You mean Cassandra? Jace’s girl?” Thomas questioned his teammate, eyeing the pretty red head while sipping the strong liquid jack handed to him. It left a foul taste in his mouth.

Thomas doesn't like drinking, but he does it so he can fit in with his friends. Having been bullied for his looks and boring personality throughout middle school was what lead to his pushover personality.

“Yeah, that's the one… but are you sure that's Jace’s girl still?” jack inquired, turning his head in the opposite direction Cassandra Page was standing in, Thomas’ gaze followed.

There in the opposite direction of his girlfriend, Jace King was making out with Cindy Mathers up against the wall right next to a giant house plant.

“Maybe they got into a fight or something?” Thomas shrugged. It's not any of his business what his football captain does in his personal life. It's fucked up for sure, but he knows that his captain will get what's coming to him if that freak, Alice Books, ever finds out.

“Nah, I bet they broke up.” Jack chuckled, throwing back his 5th shot of tequila that night. “Hey, ah, why don't you go give her a drink?” He said, pouring what looked to be rum and coke.

“Nah, I don't know man… maybe she just wants to be left alone?” Thomas tried to reason, finding any excuse to not talk to the girl. He doesn't know if that's really what's going on with his captain and his captain's girl, so he wants to steer clear of that drama at all costs.

“C'mon, don't be a pussy Tommy! Just give the girl a drink!”

Thomas gave his friend and teammate a weary look as he slowly took the drink from his waiting outstretched hand. He didn't like the way jack was looking at Cassandra, but it also could've just been the alcohol screwing with his head.

Jack wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone… right? He wouldn't drug an innocent girl… he wouldn't…

While making his way over to Cassandra, Thomas had thought about deliberately bumping into someone so that way he'd have an excuse to not give her this drink, but couldn't bring himself to do it.
