Everyone was asleep. I couldn't. I have so many worries for Sinbad. I really hope he can pull this off. The pressure on his shoulder must be extreme. I can't imagine what's going through his head. I really hope he can pull this off.
"You are a mystery Proteus son of Dymas." A voice behind me says.
I turn.
"Poseidon." I say.
He circles me.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"I'm only here to talk." Poseidon says.
My eyes narrow.
"I'm curious to know why you saved him. You know who I am." Poseidon says.
"I saved him because he's my friend." I say.
"There has to be more than that." Poseidon says.
"He saved my life." I say.
"And how many times has he gotten you in trouble?" He asks.
I look down.
"Thought so. You are naive boy." He lifts my head up with a tentacle.
I push off of him.
"Sinbad is braver than you could ever imagine." I say.
"You do realize he's a bastard, right?" He lifts an eyebrow.
"That changes nothing." I say.
"Enlighten me." Poseidon says.
"He's a hero. He has a noble heart." I say.
"Perhaps. But we will see. When he finds Echidna, he better kill her." Poseidon turns.
"He will. I assure you." I say.
"Good boy." Poseidon enters the water.
I let out a breath.
