"park sunghoon, are you crazy?" mrs.park stormed into his office fuming in anger as she pushed the door open without even bothering to knock, rushing towards his desk before slamming her hands on the said surface with a pointed gaze staring right at his uninterested figure and she swore it was taking everything in her to kill him right there and then on that table.
if they were in a cartoon, you would probably see smoke coming out of her ears.
"me, crazy? aren't you the one that just stormed into my office, yelling, and uninvited?" sunghoon talked back at her without even sparing her a glance as he continued to go over a contract, mouse moving on the cushioned support under it while his hands eventually clicked the keyboard every now and then and adjusted the glasses resting on his nose's high bridge.
"if i were you i wouldn't have such an attitude when your position is on the line, park sunghoon." the boy halted on his movements at his mother's words, diverting his focus from the computer screen to her fuming expression with a seemingly calm and poker face when inside he was freaking out at the mere thought of losing his beloved job that he uses as an excuse to isolate himself whenever he could. he's been working his ass off for years just to get to where he is right now, and losing everything when he can graze his dream with the tip of his fingers would quite literally destroy him.
"how could you tell takara that you want to marry someone else? are you out of your mind? what are we gonna do with all of the money we spent on the wedding?" oh, right, the mess he made yesterday. when takara showed up at his office uninvited right while he was talking to hari, sunghoon was so fed up with her that he ended up spilling the whole situation to her and how he doesn't want to marry her at all but hari instead, so obviously the heartbroken girl ran crying to her father who immediately informed the woman standing before him. and he assumes her father must've called off the wedding judging with the sentence that slipped past her lips.
"i really do want to marry someone else, mom. i've been planning to introduce her to you soon but i still haven't got the chance to." it's useless to say mrs.park was left speechless at her son's words, the familiar type of lips, that were recognizable in his soft features, fell parted as if to say something but eventually closed as her mind couldn't seem to come up with a single sentence.
did she really hear that right? her son, whose entire life revolved around his work, has a girl that he likes enough to even consider spending the rest of his life with her? she could only dream about a day like this previously.
the woman in her mid fifties placed a hand over her chest where her heart was located as she dramatically sat down as if she got a heart attack, making him roll his eyes at her exaggerated reaction going back to analyzing a document he was previously reading completely letting her actions pass unnoticed.
"i need to meet her as soon as possible, what about tonight? can you set a meeting with her parents?" sunghoon froze at the mention of her parents, recalling the same uneasy question he asked the other day and that received a quite unexpected answer, clearing his throat and loosening the tie around his neck tensed at the reaction his mother might have to the news. "by the way, why do you wanna marry her?"
"oh, about that.. she's.. pregnant.." the woman loudly gasped at the last word with jaw almost metaphorically dropped to the ground in shock, the hand that was placed on her heart finding it's way to its original spot while the other tightly clutched the cushioned chair feeling like she could faint any moment by now.
"park sunghoon, what the hell did you do?! how could you go and sleep around with just anyone? i raised you better than that." the mother sighed deeply and rested her back against the chair she was seated on, pinching the skin between her eyes whilst shaking her head disappointedly. she would've never expected it from sunghoon, to shamelessly cheat on his future wife as if this marriage was a joke to him.
but she isn't gonna let the money she spent on the wedding preparations go to waste.
"just marry her then, i can't bear to have an illegitimate grandchild."
