"oh my god, you look amazing hari!" minju loudly gasped as soon as she stepped inside the spacious and bright hotel room, taking quick steps towards her figure who seated on a chair in front of mirror while a woman busied herself to style her hair and another worked on her make up.the day had finally arrived, the day of their long awaited wedding, and hari couldn't lie about the nervousness running down her spine. her heart raced as she glanced at her reflection, almost unrecognizable in the bridal attire.
what if she ends up regretting this decision and it turns out sunghoon is a complete jerk? what if once they actually get to know eachother he'll realize the terrible choice he made and leave her? what if once the baby is born he'll get tired of the responsibilities he has to take and run away? so many questions flood inside her mind like a train and she couldn't stop them or prove them wrong, since after all it hasn't been long ever since they actually began getting to know eachother.
"are you nervous? having any second thought?" she nudged the bride's exposed shoulder while wiggling her brows in a teasing manner, not helping her at all due to her actually having second thoughts about this whole thing.
"actually, i am.." the girl's expression quickly dropped upon registering her sentence with mouth slightly ajar, rushing to take a nearby chair and drag it near before quickly taking a seat facing her with a worried gaze while taking her sweaty hand in hers. hari found it comforting, but she can't shake off her mind the fact that on her invitation there was a plus one ticked and she knew who it was gonna be: her long time crush who was dating her friend.
she is stuck between a rock and a hard place, she likes sunghoon, but somehow she can't seem to move on from the other guy even though he never saw her as more than a friend. everytime she goes back home, she finds him cuddled with her friend on the couch as they watch a movie together, and her heart stings a little more each time. she swears she's been trying her best to forget her feelings for him by often going with sunghoon, but she's almost making him seem as her rebound.
"what exactly is giving you second thoughts-" before hari could respond, the sound of the door opening drew their attention, both their heads snapping towards it and hari's eyes widened slightly as she recognized the familiar figure of the guy she least wanted to see at that moment.
"i hope i'm not interrupting anything, but the ceremony is about to start." hari's heart skipped a beat at the sight of her long-time crush, looking dapper in his suit, while memories of their friendship and her unrequited feelings flooded back, but she pushed them down reminding herself of the commitment she was about to make.
meanwhile, the beautifully decorated wedding venue was filled with people loudly chatting with eachother, seated around wide circle tables covered by white tablecloths that matched the delicate ornament hanging from the ceiling of the immense room. the nervous wreck groom stood by the altar with a group of best men on his side, turning his head in their direction once he felt a hand pat his shoulder, his gaze welcomed by a closed mouth smile cracking one of his best friends lips, jake.
"jake, what if she ran away? is that why we're not starting?" sunghoon asked anxiously with voice trembling in fear. jake chuckled softly, trying to calm his friend. "relax, sunghoon. she's probably just taking a little extra time to make sure everything is perfect."
just then, the loud noise of the enormous doors grabbed everybody's attention and many gasps could be heard out of awe at the bride's beauty that had sunghoon wrapped around her fingers.
her silky chocolate hair was styled into long waves cascading down her bare shoulders, a long, tight, off shoulder dress hugging her torso and touching the ground with a large gown adorned with small flowers. her features were enhanced by some light make up, her glowing skin turning into a crimson tint on her cheekbones with some glittery eyeshadow making her doe eyes stand out and her plump lips had a pink-ish hue. he can't believe this is a vision only his to see for the rest of his life.
hari slowly walked towards him and she couldn't help but grin at his shocked expression, sensing his eyes scanning her from head to toe with his gaze following her every movement.
perhaps, her doubts were unfounded for once, and sunghoon was gonna be better than she feared.
next chapter is the wedding night yk what's abt to happen 😈
