it's been a few days since his father delivered the news to him, and while sunghoon hasn't quite gotten over it yet, he decided to take some time off work to stay with hari a little bit more since her due date was only three months away. he figured out that it was best to take a break from work after being a workaholic for years since he didn't have any goal to work for anymore now that his cousin took his place.

hari still isn't aware of what exactly happened for him to suddenly lose the ceo position, and he isn't planning to tell her any time soon, because he knew that if he ever told her that the reason he didn't get it is because he got into a fight with his cousin for her she'll never stop blaming herself.

on the other hand, hari had already started maternity leave earlier than expected due to her pregnancy being at high risk due to stress caused from work and all the things that have happened in her life lately, so she was glad she wouldn't have to be alone for the whole day anymore.

"hoon, isn't it better for you to just ask a professional to build it for you? that doesn't quite look like a crib.." hari tilted her head while observing her husband attempting to build their child's crib all by himself, a bunch of wooden pieces laying on the floor around him along with some work tools and an instruction book that sunghoon didn't seem to be following judging from whatever was coming out.

"no baby, i want to at least build this by myself since the entire nursery was done by someone else. and trust me, i'm just like a professional." hari facepalmed at his words whilst shaking her head, letting out a sigh before turning on her heels and heading towards the living room. sometimes her husband's mind was unpredictable to her, and she hasn't been able to quite understand it yet.

"whatever, i'll be downstairs to unpack some stuff." hearing that, sunghoon immediately rushed towards her to stop her from walking a step further, gently grabbing her wrist and preventing her from leaving. her brows crashed at his actions as she looked down at the spot his fingers were wrapped around, clearly confused by his actions as she tilted her head. "you shouldn't do anything that requires you lifting heavy stuff, so you should leave unpacking to me."

she sighed once again and moved him out of her way, completely ignoring whatever he was babbling about and simply continuing making her way to the stairs while he followed her like her shadow. hari loved sunghoon's protective side, but sometimesshe just felt like it was too much. "it's cute that you're worrying for me hoon, but i'm simply gonna unpack our clothes, so i'm not gonna lift anything."

"fine fine, but if you have to move anything call me. by the way, is minju still coming here tonight? i don't want you to be all alone while i'm out with my friends." the brunette nodded her head as she carefully sat down on the couch while holding her belly, dragging a carton box towards her before opening it and roaming her eyes around the folded clothes to decide what she was gonna start from.

"yeah, she's gonna bring her boyfriend as well if you don't mind." just as he was walking away from her, he halted on his steps at the mention of her friend's infamous boyfriend, the same guy who she used to have a crush on, and the same guy who doesn't seem too trustworthy around his wife. he swears he's never been the overly jealous type, and he doesn't doubt that hari would never cheat or try anything weird. it's him that he doesn't like.

there is something about the way he acts around her, about the way he visibly glances at her chest when they're talking, that makes his blood boil. he only met his once, and it was enough for him to absolutely despise him. why flirt with someone else's girl when he even has a girlfriend?

"it's.. it's fine, just update me and call me if anything happens."

maybe he's simply paranoid.
