everything felt odd that morning.
first thing, sunghoon woke up to an empty bed, which is unusual since hari would always be asleep when he would leave for work, but he brushed it off, assuming she must've woken up earlier than usual for whatever reason. he then noticed that their baby wasn't sleeping in her wooden crib, but he assumed hari must've picked her up after waking up.
after washing up and getting ready for work, sunghoon walked downstairs to eat breakfast and expecting to find his wife in the living room or the kitchen but she was nowhere to be found.
when walking into the living room, he noticed a bright, neon colored post it stuck on a light blue folder on the small glass table and his thick brows furrowed as he slowly approached it, ripping the post-it off and bringing it closer to his face to read what was written on it.
sunghoon's heart just dropped. the note read that hari couldn't handle living like strangers anymore and she needed a break, so she hoped he could sign those papers and bring them to court so their divorce could be official.
the small sticky paper dropped onto the floor, the raven rushing through his house to look for them but it was no use since hari left with their baby long ago, opening her closet only to be welcomed by some empty hangers, just now noticing her make up and skin care products missing from the bathroom and the baby's nursery almost emptied out.
fuck. he fucked up and it's all his fault.
the ceo fished his phone out of his inner pocket and dialed her number, bringing the device close to his ear whilst running a hand through his fluffy hair in distress as a sigh left his full lips once her voicemail played straight away. what is he gonna do now? they're the only people he can rely on and if he lost them it's all his fault.
he didn't mean to distance himself so much from her, he was just so burnt out and exhausted from all the responsibilities he had at work that he started drifting away from hari without even noticing. he has never been the type to face his problems and talk about them rather than ignoring them and letting them bottle up.
but this is no excuse for what he caused.
sunghoon grabbed his car keys and stormed out of the house, deciding to head to the only place that she could be at right now, endless thoughts racing through his anxious mind as gut wrenching feeling slowly spread through his body and only grew further the closer he got to the said place.
he pressed the circular doorbell on the side of the door with sweaty hands, running his fingers thought his now unkempt hair and pushing his slightly round, trasparent glasses up his high nose bridge impatiently waiting for someone to open the door.
"sunghoon is outside." minju informed her as she watched the man through the peephole, glancing back at hari who was seated on the small, white couch with iseul nestled in her arms as a worried expression twisted her features fearing that he might attempt to make up some apologies and she would go back to him straight away.
hari didn't really want to leave because she really loved him, but he should prove her that he deserves another chance and she won't forgive him that easily anyway.
"just tell him i'm not here, i'll go hide in the kitchen." minju sighed heavily as she reminded herself why she forgave hari in the first place, adjusting her clothes slightly before wrapping her hands around the doorknob and twisting it open.
"what are you doing here." she questioned coldly with a gaze that pierced through his milky skin, crossing her arms over her chest with annoyance visible on her face as sunghoon attempted to glance inside her house but was quickly stopped by a warning hand in front of his face.
"is hari here? she disappeared from our house and i have no idea where she could be—"
"well if she ran away then you must've done something horrible, but i have no idea where she might be. we are no longer friends if she didn't tell you so i couldn't care less about her." with that, minju slammed the door in his face leaving him speechless, a sigh of exhaustion slipping past his lips while lightly tugging at his hair in desperation.
just where on earth could she be then?
so what would yall say if this was the last chapter
