sunghoon rushed down the hallways of the white, brightly illuminated hospital with an unsettling feeling in his stomach, his eyes anxiously reading the numbers displayed beside the door frames as the loud and rapid sound of his footsteps echoed through the walls. once he reached hari's hospital room and saw her seated on the hospital bed with their baby cuddled in her arms, he felt his previously tensed up shoulders finally relax and a sigh of relief subconsciously slipped past his full lips as a warmth feeling spread through his chest.

after hearing what jaehyun told him, sunghoon couldn't help but feel paranoid that something was gonna happen now that his family was alone in a hospital where anyone could walk in and pretend to be a visitor, especially her mother, who clearly wasn't hesitating to harm her own blood for god knows what purpose.

hari's ears picked up the panting sound coming from the door and averted her gaze from her newborn daughter to his figure as her honey smile cracked her lips softly. "you're already here hoon? did the meeting go well?" hoon walked up to her and caressed her head gently, planting a sweet kiss on her crown which had hari confused considering he was anxiously running down the hallways until a moment ago.

"yeah, and i have great news baby. i'll tell you once we get in the car." sunghoon tried to steady his breathing, though his heart was still racing from the fear and adrenaline, keeping his hand on hari's head as his thumb gently stroked her hair as if reassuring himself that she was really there, safe and sound. the paranoia of anybody harming her was eating him alive and it was too much to handle for him.

the brunette noticed his hand trembling slightly as it caressed her head, looking up at him with concern written all over her soft features sensing that something about his demeanor was off. was he hiding something from her? "hoon, is everything okay? you look... worried." he forced a smile, hoping to mask the unease still lingering in his chest and devouring his brain from hari's observant eyes that were already scanning his face thoroughly. "everything's fine baby. i just... i just wanted to see you and the baby as soon as possible. i missed you both."

hari didn't believe him the tiniest bit, but she knew sunghoon so well to know that no matter how much she insisted, he would've kept the burden to himself, so she decided to let it go for the meantime and bring it up again when he seemed less paranoid.

"by the way," hoon cleared his throat as shifted the topic to ease the atmosphere and probably to distract his clouded mind as well, seating himself beside her and intertwining their fingers before caressing the back of her hand. "do you mind telling me how the accident happened?" hari's expression shifted, her brow furrowing slightly as she tried to recall the events leading up to the accident but all she would earn was a throbbing headache and an empty mind.

"i... i don't remember much, hoon." she admitted softly with voice barely a mumble and audibly shaking as she began to somewhat remember the events before her daughter's birth, suddenly feeling herself getting very emotional due to a recent wound being opened again. "everything happened so fast. one moment we were driving to the hospital, and the next i woke up in a hospital room."

all hari could remember before losing consciousness was worrying that their child wouldn't make it alive to the hospital. she didn't even care about her own life, she just wanted the baby to be okay.

sensing the vulnerability in her voice sunghoon squeezed her hand gently whilst his eyes were unable to glue themselves off her figure, following her every move as she held their baby closer to her chest and caressed her slightly hairy head with a small smile curving her kissable lips. he felt like a terrible husband for not being there for her when her waters broke.

everyday he wonders if the accident would've happened if he was in the car with her instead.

hari quickly wiped the single tear that rolled down her cheek and faced him with a smile on her delicate features, trying to assure him that she was okay and that it was all in the past now that miwon was peacefully sleeping in her arms. "anyway, shouldn't we get going now? the baby is probably gonna wake up to eat soon so we should go home." the brunette cleared her throat and stood from the bed before walking towards the baby carrier and gently placing miwon in it, feeling his concerned gaze piercing through her skull and making her nervous.
