"do we really have to go?" hari whined as she tapped a small brush on her closed eyelid to leave a light, sparkly dust that highlighted her doe eyes, leaning closer to the mirror that displayed a set of lights on the borders to help her do her make up better while sunghoon went through his perfume collection to select the best one.
"it's just a business dinner angel, all you have to do is look pretty and stand beside me." he reassured her while spraying perfume on his wrists and neck that still displayed a purple-ish red bruise from a few days ago, clearing his throat and adjusting his shirt's collar to make sure it was covered while facing a full length mirror before checking the time on his wristwatch.
"yeah, i guess. it can't be that bad."
well, hari definitely lied to herself eith that sentence. it was even worse than she imagined, and all she's been doing is staring at the delicious looking food with lingering eyes wishing she wouldn't probably throw up her whole soul out if she ate that and follow sunghoon around like his shadow or puppet.
"hoon! i can't believe you're here!" a familiar, annoying and high-pitched voice rang in his ears for a while before his eyes widened in realization, slowly turning his head towards the direction of the voice before cursing under his breath once his irises landed on takara's figure rushing towards him excitedly.
"i knew you would come back to me in the end. you probably realized i'm much better than that poor girl." the japanese girl clinged on his arm with a suffocatingly tight grip that he struggled to break free from, trying to detach her from him before his wife came back from the buffet placed in the middle of the enormous room and get the wrong idea.
she grabbed his hand to intertwine fingers with him and her eyes almost popped out of her eye sockets once her irises landed on the shining silver ring around his finger that had a small white diamond on it, looking back and forth between the jewelry and his intimidating features demanding explanations before noticing the bruise on his milky skin. "hoon, what the hell is this? did you get married to someone else? and is that a hickey on your neck?" sunghoon yanked his arm away from her and recomposed himself adjusting his jacket sleeves, glancing around to room only to lay his eyes on his wife and a familiar masculine figure chatting together.
"can't you understand? our wedding was canceled because i wanted to marry someone else, so i did." takara glanced around them to spot this so famous wife he was talking about, but not a single soul seemed to be associated with him. "well, is she in the room with us? cause i don't see a single woman nearby."
"yeah, it's the girl over there for your information." the boy tilted his head towards hari's direction and hee eyes followed him, finally spotting the girl near her age in a black minidress that was busy talking to the relative sunghoon despised the most: his cousin. he has always been in a competition with him no matter what they were doing, whether it was who could graduate with the best grades or who would inherit his father's position. and for once, sunghoon was able to beat him to it.
"hoon! look i was able to eat something—" hari stopped her words after noticing the girl standing beside her husband that she recalls seeing in his office before sunghoon asked her to marry him, assuming she must be the so-famous fiancee that called it quits last minute according to rumors. rumors might be false most of the time, but they didn't lie about her visuals and model-like body. her hair was wavy and an ashy brown, lips plump and hazel eyes doe along with a slim figure that many would die for.
hari glanced down at herself with a disappointed gaze and lips pressed into a thin line, stopping her eyes at the growing bump that began to hide her feet from her sight and suddenly feeling uncomfortable in her outfit she left the house in. what was she thinking wearing something like that while pregnant? she must look so ridiculous right now.
"is this the girl you left me for?" the brunette eyed the pregnant girl from head to toe and laughed to herself which received a glare that could kill from sunghoon, already sensing how uncomfortable hari was beginning to feel under her judgmental eyes.
"if you don't have anything nice to say you can fuck off takara. you might be pretty but that attitude of yours ruins everything. get lost." he interlaced their fingers and dragged her away from there towards a more remote place, his eyes immediately softening as soon as they set on her lips curved downwards and head hung low. if only takara wasn't a girl, he would've thrown a good punch on that face of hers.
"don't pay attention to her, she's just a brat with no manners. you look so pretty in this dress angel." he planted a sweet kiss on her forehead and flashed her a closed mouth smile which subconsciously made her pink-ish lips curve into a grin as well, her cheeks ablaze at his caring actions as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
"want me to try the food you managed to eat?"
