Year 3828 — COSMIC Headquarters — Section Meden
The sound of metal hitting metal emulated through the training gym.
"Come at me harder!" El shouted at Renan as he swiveled back from her blow.
"You're going too fast." He breathed out.
Astraea sat on the edge of the dark blue mat, scrolling through her holographic tablet. Jaxar ended up giving her the files on Giatov and Astraea took the opportunity to better understand where she was going for the mission.
Though she didn't want to be here she didn't have much of a choice. El dragged her out of bed at 5:50 in the morning saying they only had an hour before the training room will be packed.
"And you're not going fast enough. Use your salt on me!" El ordered, sinking into the mat below them.
El's helix allowed her to go through matter similar to permeation. The difference being that she can teleport through the void to any place she can see. Permeation only allows for the shifting through matter.
Renan circled around himself, searching for the area which El would pop out from. Using the seconds she gave him, he opened a pouch he held clipped on his belt.
Out of the pouch, he poured the white substance onto the mat. Using his hands, he spread the grains of white further around.
"Got you." He mumbled underneath his breath.
Without another second, he slid across the mat controlling the salt towards his previous position. And in his exact spot, El came up throwing a knife at him. But Renan already started his work, weaving the salt around her appearing legs.
With a swipe of his hands, El's legs gave out tumbling onto the floor. But she was quick about it, not letting herself stay there, by voiding through the salt and ground.
She appeared quicker this time, just behind Renan. El kneed him in the back sending Renan forward.
"Ow!" Astraea yelped as Renan's body slammed into her's.
With all her might she pushed Renan off of her, giving herself air to breathe.
"Sorry, Rae." He mumbled lifting himself up in a sitting position.
"It's fine but you know that the mat is right there." She pointed to the mat that stood a foot from where she sat.
"There are no boundaries in battle." El said as she bent down to grab her water bottle.
"I'm pretty sure there are in Individual Battles." Astraea replied watching as the taller girl downed her water.
"There's salt on my clothes." El grumbled after removing the bottle from her lips and brushed off her black pants.
"What is this?" Astraea turned to the sound of Renan's voice. He was holding her tablet in his hands, scrolling through one of the files of Giatov.
"Giatov? Why are you looking at this planet?" He asked looking up from the screen. El peered our him to also take a look at the file.
"I heard we'll be given a mission soon so I thought I would prepare myself." Astraea explained, reaching for the tablet.
"A mission?" He inquired.
"Did General Lyris tell you something?" El was also intrigued by the idea of a mission.
Astraea nodded, "She said that she would announce it soon so I don't know much about it other than it is on Planet Giatov in Section Dyo."
