Year 3828 — COSMIC Headquarters — Section Meden
"How are you feeling?" Astraea sat by El who had fixed her eyes on the back of a platinum blonde's head two bleachers down.
"Ready to beat her already." She replied in a serious tone. It was finally Wednesday afternoon and the entire squad was gathered in the room once more.
Astraea was worried about the outcome of the battle. It wasn't that she didn't think El would win, it was that she knew Izmeria would pull some sort of mean trick.
Though Izmeria might be slightly lacking in combat compared to El, she made up with it with her cunning attitude. She was smart, always had a plan.
"Match goes to Elexar!" Calyx's deep voice bounced in the room. Axel and Kalin's match was over.
"I told you Elexar would win." Gavrel elbowed Ciaran in the side to the right of where El sat.
"Izmeria and El, you're up!"
El shot straight up to her feet, leaving no room for Astraea to say any encouraging words before she walked towards the mat.
"You got this, El!" Renan shouted from Astraea's left.
El's hair was pulled back in a short low pony tail and a pair of dark goggles on her head. Knife sheathes lined her belt, a dozen or so. Her Striker uniform was on, other than the white jacket. Black pants and breastplate with a fitted white long sleeve underneath.
Izmeria wore the same outfit other than the shirt which was also black. She too was a dagger user like Elestren but had a gun strapped to her belt for precautions.
Izmeria's Helix was better suited for long range combat but she was more proficient in close range.
"I guess we'll finally see which one of us is stronger now." Izmeria smirked, tapping the hilt of a dagger.
"It will be me." Was all El said.
El was the first to move when Calyx announced to begin. Two metallic daggers in hand. She voided into the mat, disappearing from the surface.
That won't work, Izmeria thought to herself. She then motioned her hand down and a golden solid field formed underneath her feet.
Force Field was the name of her Helix. She compressed matter into a glowing shield around herself.
This is why El had a difficultly battling Izmeria, her shield is one of the few things she can't pass through.
When El voidwalks, she separates her own matter to fit into the void which allows her to pass through. With Izmeria, her Helix compresses matter so tightly that El can't pass through.
The only way for El to reach Izmeria on the inside would be until she reaches her limit and the shield falls. There was also limits to how long she can keep up the force field. Larger areas require more energy.
Then El appeared just behind her, a knife flew at Izmeria which was blocked as she moved the shield from her feet to her back. It bounced off and fell onto the mat.
El used the moment to kick her exposed legs. Izmeria's knee buckled as she staggered to catch her footing. As quickly as she could, she spun around with the gun in hand.
A plasma bullet shot out, just grazing El's cheek. Her brown eyes widened for a second before she voided back into the ground.
Izmeria panted a breath as she was the only one on the mat, a moment of rest before El came back.
And she did, this time with a grenade in hand and the goggles over her eyes. A flash grenade that causes temporary blindness. The grenade was set off, blinding even the squad that was spectating.
