Year 3828 — COSMIC Headquarters — Section Meden

After the trio discussed their plans for training, they seperated heading their own ways.

Astraea made her way down a metal lined hallway of the hub. COSMIC headquaters was a large space station that had a distinct O-shaped. It was seperated into four different subparts, the Medics, Defense Force, Striker Corps, and Investigation.

The Defence Force and Striker Corps are located on one side of the station where they have access to cyberships on the inside of the O. The Medics and Investigation are on opposite ends of the O. While COSMIC is the base of operations, there are also stations throughout the eight different sections.

Taking a right down another much shorter hallway, Astraea stopped in front of a similar colored metal door. With a touch of her finger on the flat screen to the right of the door, it began to scan her fingerprint.

A short high pitched noise echoed before the door slid open. Walking in, Astraea came to see a large metallic office desk, behind it sat an intimidating older woman.

"Why aren't you at training?" The woman asked, not looking up from the computer screen on her desk. She looked to be in her younger for her age with her amber hair cut short, leaving only an inch in the back. A side of her head was shaved, leaving the longer inches of hair on top to fall on it.

"It's my day off today. I'm free to do whatever I want." Astraea plopped down in a navy blue arm chair to the right of the desk near a wall covered in shelves of books. The books were only there for decor. Ancient artifacts by now since not many people print books. They were more into the digital kind at least in COSMIC.

"So did you come to bother me?" The woman finally looked up, her forest green eyes hitting the side of Astraea's head. On the woman's table sat a holographic placard that said 'General Lyris Vail'.

Astraea was taken in by the General after the incident. She thought of the General as a mother figure since she helped her so much.

"I did come to bother you. Every time I come in your office, you never seem to even pay a glance at me. You work too much." Atraea fiddled with a strand of her dark brown hair.

"I have to work. Who else is going to run this station?" General Lyris said before looking back down. She was in charge of the Headquarters, she calls the shots if the higher ups don't tell her anything. It's a stressful business, Astraea began to understand it as she grew older.

Sometimes, General Lyris would spend more time behind the desk than out there solving the chaos.

"I know but have you at least had lunch?" Astraea leaned against the arm of the chair to get a better look at the older woman.

"I did," she only nods.

"What did you eat?" Astraea narrows her eyes.

"I believe it was some rice and a side of salad."

"No meat?" She raised a brow.

The older woman sighed, placing the papers back on the table. "I promise you there was meat. Now how about you get out of here so I can finish this work."

Astraea slumped her shoulders, "How about we take a breather and go see the garden? I heard that some of the Medics are growing vegetables that can improve your mental abilities."

General Lyris peered at her, before looking down at the watch on her wrist. "Fine, but only ten minutes."

Astraea's eyes lit up. "Ten minutes! I thought you would only give me three, maybe five at most."
