Year 3828 — Eclipse Headquaters — Section Tria
The man lifted his head at the sound of his name. A large smile appearing as he noticed who it was.
"Zeph!" Ryker ran towards him, clasping Zeph's open hand and bringing him into a brotherly hug. "You were gone for so long. What happened?" He asked as he contiende to pat Zeph's back.
"I was bus—"
"What the..." Ryker interrupted him, pulling back from the hug as he realized that Astraea was just behind Zeph. "You left and brought back a girl!"
Before Zeph could answer him, Ryker pushed him aside and approached Astraea. "Hello, pretty lady. My name is Ryker." He held out his hand for Astraea to take. "Can I have yours?"
Astaera took a quick glance at his hand before accepting it. "Rae."
"You have such a beautiful name, Rae. Tell me, what do you see in my brother? Even when he tries, he doesn't seem to get any ladies." Ryker insulted Zeph right in front of him.
"Oh, we're not—"
"Stop it." Zeph interrupted, pulling Ryker back, breaking their handshake. "She's here because you rushed me back here. And it's nothing like that," he said that knowing what Ryker was thinking in his childish head.
"So what are you doing here with her?" Ryker crossed his arms as he looked between Zeph and Astraea.
"Not here." Zeph scanned the crowded room. His face was more serious now, causing Ryker to understand. Zeph then turned to walk back the way they came, signaling Astraea to follow him. "We're going to be leaving soon. The ship's wing is damaged so we need to fix that first before we do. I just wanted to let you know before we left."
"You're leaving again." Ryker whined on Zeph's right side. "But you just got back."
"We need to take care of something." Zeph replied nonchalantly.
"Now you're really making me curious." Ryker eyed the two back and forth.
Astraea peered at the new man. Though Zeph was a jokester she felt as if Ryker was a worse case. He was a jokester and a flirt.
"How long will it take? Won't the Commander dislike that you're leaving again?" Astraea asked Zeph, the additional thoughts that were running through her mind.
"An hour maximum and the Commander won't mind since he'll be busy repairing the base."
"So are you just leaving to avoid the clean up?" Ryker cut in.
"No." Was all Zeph answered with.
The three of them made there way to where Voragos was landed. The corpses of the Auraform still scattered along the platform dock.
"Damn! What did you do to the poor ship?!" Ryker scurried around the broken right wing assessing the damage.
"Peacekeepers," Zeph answered. "They didn't know when to give up so they tried to take us down."
"Did you pay them back?" Ryker turned back to the other two.
Zeph glanced down at Astarea who noticed his eyes on her. She then turned to Ryker and said, "Yes." The peacekeeper ship fell right out of the sky. She had repaid the damage that was done to their ship.
Was she proud of it? Not really. But she had to survive.
"You two look oddly close." Ryker narrowed his eyes on them. "Are you sure you aren't—"
"Yes!" Astraea and Zeph replied at the same time causing them to look at each other.
Ryker didn't look too convinced but didn't press any further.
