Year 3828 — Cyber Ship Voragos — Section Tria

Two days passed since they had left Neon and Astraea was slowly becoming accustomed to life on the ship. The only thing she couldn't get used to was how Zeph was always in the same room as her other than her room.

Her room. That was still weird to say.

She was now sitting in the right seat on the deck. Zeph had left for a minute to grab some snacks from the kitchen.

She didn't look up from her book as she heard him walking back in.

"We need to stop soon." He fell down into the seat next to hers.

"Why?" Astraea finally looked up.

"I wasn't able to fuel up in Neon so we need to do that soon. Also we need to get more food. I didn't think we'd run out that fast." He said, glancing at her.

"Are you calling me fat?" She glared daggers at him. "Your eyes were looking at me when you said that."

"What— no. That's not what I meant." He quickly tried to fix his mistakes. "I only packed for myself and I didn't know you had such an appetite."

"Insulting me again doesn't help your cause." She deadpanned.

"That's not—"

"I'm just playing." She cut him off, a small smile almost appearing on her lips. "I know I eat a lot. It keeps my Helix strong."

"You need energy?" He guessed.

"Yeah, how else would I have destroyed that window in the store. A normal plasma gun could never do that."

"That was pretty amazing." He nodded, opening a bag of chips.

"Are you complimenting me?" She raised a brow.

"Yes, why? You don't think I can compliment?" He leaned against the arm rest of his chair.

Astraea looked straight into his eyes. "No, I think you can compliment, just not me."

He then said, "You're a talented woman. I don't want to admit it but you were able to stop me multiple times. If that doesn't deserve a compliment then I don't know what does." He meant it. She always seemed to catch him off guard.

Astraea was speechless, staring at him like she had seen a ghost. Who was this man? She kept trying to find a fault in him. Some killer instinct or something that could reveal his evil intent.

He seemed normal other than the fact that he cracked jokes like Renan's dad.

And it didn't help that he always wore such tight fitted shirts. She could tell he was well sculpted and his face was undeniably handsome.

But this is how they trick you. A handsome face is always deceiving.

"Well, thanks, I guess." She turned away from him, scared that he would notice she was admiring him. "Where are you thinking of stopping?"

"Zahran. The planet of shining lights." He clicked a button on the panel to bring up a white planet covered in blue and purple waves. "It's two hours away from where we are right now so it would be the perfect place to stop. The people there are known to be very welcoming."

"Okay, that's sounds good." Astraea nodded. She actually couldn't wait to be out of the ship. She got tried of reading Zeph's terrible taste in books and so maybe she could find something there to cure her boredom.

"Also the planet's pretty cold so I would dress warmly." He suggested showing an image of the snow covered buildings.

Astraea wasn't a fan of the cold. It would always drain her of her energy so she always tried to stay warm. But now she didn't have a jacket built for the cold. Her Striker jacket may be tear and battle resistant but not cold resistant.
