Year 3828 — COSMIC Headquarters — Section Meden
"Anything new with you?" Astraea asked sipping a warm brew of tea Calyna had gifted her.
"Nothing to note of." Lyris answered holding her sleek white mug that had a red glowing ring on the bottom of it. "Your mission?"
About a week had passed since she had been to Giatov.
"I finished my punishment laps yesterday," Astraea replied.
The General hummed. "I heard you met the felon, Chromeblade."
"You've met him?" Astraea perked a brow.
"Unfortunately, yes. A cunning one." She gave a irritated look. "Slipped through my fingers too many times. I'm not even sure where he came from."
"Is he part of Eclipse? Colonel Cosmara told me that he was related to them."
"We believe he is because he uses their cyber ware and weapons." Lyris then put on a more serious expression. "If you ever encounter him again, run. I don't tell you to run often so believe me that I'm serious. That man does not care about who you are. All he needs to see is your Striker uniform and you're a target."
"I will. I don't plan on meeting him again either," Astraea assured. A tricky guy like him wasn't someone she wanted to see again.
Then their talk was interrupted by a beeping on Astraea's SPI watch. A message appeared on the circular screen.
'Come to my office.' Sent by Lieutenant Calyx Evron.
"Looks like I have to go." Astraea stood up from her arm chair as she read the message. "The Lieutenant sent for me."
"I don't mind. Take care of any business you have. I have my own waiting over there." She waved at her office desk from where she sat in an armchair.
Astraea gave Lyris one last nod before leaving her office.
She made her way to the Lieutenant's office, her anticipation slowly getting her. What did he need of her? She didn't have any training left for the day.
"You're here." Calyx announced as she entered the much smaller office.
"You did message for me." Astraea stated, looking at the large man behind the desk.
"You have another mission." He got straight to the point.
"Really?" Astraea's eyes brightened up.
"Don't get too excited." He shut down Astraea's happiness. "Colonel Cosmara assigned you this solo mission as correctional practice. You need to prove you can complete a mission without any mishaps."
Though Calyx knew it wasn't Astraea's fault, he couldn't do anything against the Colonel's orders. And it wasn't a particularly bad mission.
"Similar to our last mission, you are retrieving a piece of machinery. However, there is no enemies or factors to stop you from acquiring this piece." Calyx pressed a button on the side of his desk bringing up a hologram.
"You know of the largest universal market, Neon in Section Unus, correct?"
Astraea nodded, "I do."
