Chapter 19: The Washington Monument Rescue

Y/N's P.O.V

So, I made it to Maryland and the guy with wings showed up.

He and his crew were robbing trucks filled with tech from helicarrier attack in 2014.

I managed to stop them, but got trapped inside a DODC vault.

But I'm out now and on my way back to Washington. I need to warn Ben.

It turns out the glowy thing can also be converted into a bomb.

I'm trying to call him right now.

Y/N: Come on, Ben. Pick up.

I jump from car to car and land on a bus roof.

(Ten minutes later)

I'm still on the bus and I've made it into D.C.

I then get a call from Ben.

Y/N: Ben! Thank god you're alive.

Ben: Of course I am, but Y/N where are you? Are you okay?

Y/N: Ben, where's the glowy thing?

Ben: Don't worry, I still have it. It's in my backpack.

Y/N: It's dangerous, Ben. Don't...

Ben: Dude, we're at the Washington Monument. I...

Just then I hear Ellie's voice.

Ellie: Y/N, is that you?

My eyes widen.

Y/N: Oh, Hey, Ellie.

I jump off the bus.

Y/N: Can you put Ben on the phone, please? It's important.

Ellie: Y/N, where are you? I was worried. Like, what is going on with you?

Y/N: Ellie, I have to talk to Ben. It's really important.

Just then the call cuts off.

Y/N: Ellie? El?! Ah, shit.

I put my phone away and run to the Washington Monument.

I then spot a tree and throw my backpack at it before firing webbing, sticking it to the tree.

When I get there I see an explosion at the top of the Monument.

Y/N: Oh, shit. Gotta get up there.

I run towards the Monument.

Y/N: Damn, it's tall.

I jump up and climb up the Washington Monument.

Y/N: I gotta go faster.

I use web lines to shoot myself up and continue climbing.
