Chapter 28: A Bridge Rescue

(Two days later)

Y/N's P.O.V

So, I'm now at school and inbetween classes.

I haven't heard from Dr. Connors since I was last at Oscorp, I hope he's okay.

As I walk to class I hear a voice.

???: Y/N.

I turn to see Tara.

Y/N: Hey, Tara. What's up?

Tara: Well, I was hoping we could hang out tonight. Just us.

I nod.

Y/N: Yeah, sure. Sounds good.

She smiles.

Tara: Cool. Come by my place.

Y/N: Okay. I'll see you there.

Tara: Great.

The bell rings.

Y/N: Well, I gotta get to class.

Tara: Me too. See you later.

Y/N: See ya.

I leave and head to class.

(Four hours later)

I'm now on the rooftop of Tara's apartment complex.

I make my way down the fire escape and land outside her bedroom window.

I knock on the window and she sees me.

She smiles and comes over to open the window.

Tara: Hey.

Y/N: Hi.

Tara: Did you climb up the fire escape?

Y/N: Uh, yeah. It wasn't that hard.

Tara: Okay.

She moves back and I climb into her room.

Y/N: I got something for you.

I take off my backpack and open it. I then pull flowers out.

Y/N: Oh, no.

Tara: Aw, they're so nice.

Y/N: Yeah... they were. I'm sorry.

She giggles.

Tara: It's okay. It's the thought that counts. I appreciate it.

She takes the flowers.

There's a knock at the door and we see Tara's mum come in.

Christina: Tara, dinner is almost...

She sees me.

Christina: Oh, Y/N. Hi.

Y/N: Hey, Mrs. Carpenter.

Christina: I didn't realise you were here.

Tara: He just got here, mum.

Christina: Well, there's more than enough for you, Y/N. If you'd like to join us for dinner.

I nod.

Y/N: Yeah, that'd be great.

I leave the room with Tara and her mothers.

(Two hours later)

After having dinner, Tara and I go up onto the rooftop.

We stand against the ledge.

Y/N: This was great. Your mum's a great cook.

Tara: Yeah, she is.

I sigh.
