Chapter 68: Vormir 2014

(Vormir, 2014)

Natasha's P.O.V

After a long flight in the space ship, Clint and I finally make it to the planet Vormir.

This planet that has the Soul Stone.

He and I stand to look out of the window.

Clint: Under different circumstances this would be totally awesome.

I nod.

Natasha: So true.

(Ten minutes later)

After landing the ship, Clint and I walk up and mountain.

We manage to make it to the top, but we're out of breath.

I sigh.

Natasha: I bet the raccoon didn't have to climb the mountain.

Clint: You know he's not technically a raccoon.

Natasha: Oh whatever, he still eats garbage.

???: Welcome.

We both turn I pull out my gun and Clint pulls his sword out.

He and I see a being with a red skull and a black clock infront of us.

Red skull: Natasha, daughter of Ivan. Clint, son of Edith.

Natasha: Who are you?

Red skull: Consider me a guide. To you, and all who seek the soul stone.

Natasha: Oh good. You tell us where it is and we'll be on our way.

Red Skull: Oh, if only it were that easy.

The Red Skull leads us to the edge of the mountain.

He then tells us that the only way to get the Soul Stone is for one of us to die. A soul for a soul.

Clint and I both back off to take a minute to think about all of this.

I go over to a log and sit down on it.

Clint: Alright, how do we even know this guy is telling us the truth?

Natasha: He is.

Clint: Why's that? Because he knew your daddy's name.

I look over to him.

Natasha: I didn't. Thanos left here with the stone and without his daughter, that's not a coincidence.

He sighs.

Clint: Yeah.

There's a moment of silence between us.

I then remember what Y/N said before we left.

Natasha: Whatever it takes.

Clint: Whatever it takes.

I stand and walk over to Clint.

Natasha: If we don't get that stone billions of people stay dead.

Clint: Well then, I guess we both know who it's gotta be.

Natasha: Yeah, we do.

Clint: I'm starting to get the feeling we mean different people here. Nat, you can't do this.

Natasha: Clint, you have a family. I've been waiting for three years to get to this moment. That's all it's been about bringing everyone back.

He and I start arguing over who has more blood on their hands and who should give their life for the Soul Stone.

We lean forward and put our foreheads together.

Clint: Tell my family that I love them.

I quickly grab Clint and throw  him to the ground.

Natasha: Tell them yourself, Clint.

I fire a Widow stinger at Clint to stun him.

Clint: Ahh!

Third person perspective

Barton manages to recover from being stunned.

He quickly jumps up and fires an explosive arrow near Natasha.

The blast knocks of her down.

Hawkeye takes this opportunity to run and jump of the edge of the mountain.

As he's about to fall down, Widow jumps and grabs him.

Clint uses his arrow and a cable to wrap Nat up.

He quickly turns it around on Nat and sticks her to the side of the mountain.

Before Clint could fall, Romanoff grabs his hand.

Natasha's P.O.V

Clint and I are now hanging on the side of the mountain.

I try and break out of the cable but it's too stong.

Natasha: Damn it, Clint! Please, Clint, don't do this. You can't. People still need you.

He looks at me with tears in his eyes.

Clint: It's okay. It's okay, Natasha. Just let me go.

I feel the tears streaming down my face.

Natasha: No! No, I can't.

Clint: You have to. It's okay. Stay alive for me, Natasha. And tell my family I love them.

He kicks himself off the mountain and falls to his death.

Natasha: No!!

I then get hit by a blinding light and black out.

(Five minutes later)

When I come to, I sit up and see that I'm laying in a lake.

I'm still on Vormir too.

I look down at my hand to see that I have the Soul Stone in my hand.

After have a minute or so to somewhat process what just happened, I stand up and activate my time travel suit.

I then head back to the Compound.

I need to make sure Clint didn't die for nothing.
