(Two days later)
Y/N's P.O.V
So, right now I'm out looking for Green Goblin.
I have been since his attack on the Unity Day Festival.
I drop down onto a rooftop ledge.
Y/N: Where are you, Goblin?
I can't believe I haven't found him yet. He doesn't exactly seem like the subtle type.
Just then Tara comes over the comm link.
Tara: Y/N, you there?
Y/N: Yep, I'm here. You got something, Tara?
Tara: Actually, I do. Meet me at the Spider Cave. You're gonna want to see this.
Y/N: Okay, I'm on my way.
I jump off the ledge and swing back to the cave.
(Fifteen minutes later)
I make it back to the Spider Cave and come out to see Tara there.
Tara: Ah, there you are.
I take off my mask.
Y/N: Hi, baby. What you got?
Tara: Take a look at this.
We go over to the monitors.
Tara: I found footage of your fight with the Green Goblin.
Y/N: Okay...
Tara: I scanned the footage and I got something on the glider. It seems that the glider was created by Oscorp. It's was created as apart of their Flight Tech Division
Y/N: Hmm. I guess we should talk to the CEO.
Tara: Then we have our in. But are you sure it's a good idea to interrogate Harry's dad?
Y/N: Well, Spider-Man is gonna interrogate him, not Y/N L/N.
Tara: Okay. It's kinda weird hearing you refer to yourself in the third person.
Y/N: Yeah, it felt weird.
Just then I get a call from Ben.
Y/N: Hey, Ben. What's up?
Ben: Y/N, I've been listening in on the police scanners. The Goblin's been spotted near the Daily Bugle. Looks like he's gonna hit it.
Y/N: Got it. I'm on my way.
I hang up, then look at Tara.
Y/N: Gotta go, babe.
I put my mask on and rush off.
(Ten minutes later)
I web swing very fast and make it to the Bugle.
I see an explosion at the Bugle, but can't see much cause of the smoke.
When I get over there I repel down on a web line to see Goblin holding J. Jonah by the throat.
Y/N: Set him down, tough guy!
He drops Jonah and turns to face me.
Green Goblin: Speak of the devil.
Jonah: Spider-Man! I knew you two were workin' together! I...
I shoot webbing at his mouth to shut him up.
Y/N: Hey, Sunshine. Why don't you let mum and dad talk for a minute, okay?
Green Goblin: Sleep.
He hits me with gas and I feel dizzy.
Y/N: Oh, no...
I feel myself drop and everything goes black.
(Three hours later)
I slowly open my eyes and I realise I can't move my body.
Green Goblin: Wake up, little spider. Wake up. You're not dead... yet. Just paralysed, temporarily.
I look up and see Green Goblin standing there.
Green Goblin: You're an amazing creature, Spider-Man. You and I aren't so different.
Y/N: I'm not like you. You're a murderer.
Green Goblin: Well, to each his own. I chose my path. You chose the way of the hero. You became an Avenger and the city loves you. But the one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall or die trying. Despite everything you've done for them, eventually they'll hate you. Why bother?
Y/N: Because it's right.
He comes over and stands next to me.
Green Goblin: Here's the real truth, kid. There are eight million people in this city, and those teeming masses exist for the sole purpose of lifting the fee exceptional people onto their shoulders. You and me, we're exceptional.
He kneels down infront of me and grabs my face.
Green Goblin: I could squash you like a bug right now. But I'm offering you a choice here. Join me. Imagine what we could accomplish together, what we could create. Or we could destroy.
He gets up and steps away.
Green Goblin: We could cause the death's of countless innocents in selfish battle again and again and again, until we're both dead. Is that what you want?
His glider comes in and he jumps onto it.
Green Goblin: Think about it, hero!!!
He flies away as I try to push myself off the ground.
A moment later I hear footsteps and look over to see Kate.
Y/N: Tara...?
Tara: Ben, he's here!
She comes over kneels down infront of me.
Tara: Hey, you. Are you alright?
I groan.
Y/N: Kinda. Can you take my mask off for me?
She takes off my mask.
Tara: There you go.
She runs her hand through my hair.
I then see Ben come over as Scarlet Spider.
Y/N: Hi, Ben.
Ben: Hey. What happened?
Y/N: It was Goblin. He hit me with a gas. I'm temporarily paralysed.
Ben: He clearly wanted something. I mean he would've killed you otherwise.
Y/N: You're right. He did want something.
Tara: What'd he want?
I sigh.
Y/N: It's a long story. I'll explain it all later. Let's just get out of here.
They help me up and put my mask on before we leave the rooftop.
I can't stop thinking about what Goblin said though.
Green Goblin: Despite everything you've done for them, eventually they'll hate you.
Is he right?
