Chapter 76: A Fight With Scorpion

(Two days later)

Y/N's P.O.V

For the past two days the other's and I have been looking for any signs of the Maggia.

But so far we haven't gotten anything on them.

Right now I'm at my place with Tara.

I go over to the couch and sit with her.

Tara: You okay?

Y/N: Yeah, it just feels weird having a day off from work as Spider-Man and from my actual job.

Tara: Well, you deserve it. You've been putting in alot of work recently. I don't want you to burn out.

Y/N: I could say the same about you with your work at the Bugle.

She giggles.

Tara: Good point. I'm just surprised Jonah was willing to give me the day off.

Y/N: Me too. If only he knew your boyfriend was Spider-Man.

She smiles.

Tara: He'd definitely fire me on the spot.

Just then Harry calls me and I answer.

Harry: Hey, Y/N, I've got something, but it's not Hammerhead.

Y/N: Okay, what's going on?

Harry: Well, it seems Mac Gargan a.k.a Scorpion is going on a rampage in downtown.

Y/N: Okay, got it. Let Ben know what's happening and have him meet me there and be on standby, just in case.

Harry: I'm on it.

I stand up and Tara looks at me.

Tara: What's happening?

Y/N: There's trouble downtown. So much for my day off.

My eyes widen when I realise something.

Y/N: Wait, I just remembered something.

Tara: What is it?

Y/N: When Ben, Harry and I were going through files on the Maggia they said that Gargan is actually an associate of Hammerhead's.

Tara: So, you're thinking he can lead us to Hammerhead.

Y/N: Exactly. I better try and get some info out of Scorpion if I can. Gotta go.

I lean down to kiss her before leaving to suit up.

(Ten minutes later)

I've just linked up with Ben and we've made it to Gargan's location.

We land on the ground infront of him.

Y/N: Whoa. Looks like Gargan's got a new makeover.

He sees us.

Scorpion: Ah, it's the new Spider-Man. And Scarlet Spider.

Cindy: That's right.

Scorpion: I had a feeling this would get your attention. Looks like I get to kill two Spider's today.

Y/N: That's not happening. This isn't looking good for you. We need to know something, where's Hammerhead?

Scorpion: Oh, that's on a need to know basis, Web-Head.

Ben: Looks like Scorpion is working with Hammerhead.

Y/N: Guess so. Let's kick his ass.

He and I web zip at him and we both kick him in the face.

We fight Gargan and I gotta say he's able to hold us off alone.

He grabs Ben with his tail and throws him into the wall.

Y/N: No! 

I look at him.

Y/N: Now, I'm gonna beat the shit out of you.

Scorpion: Give it your best shot.

I charge at him and we fight one-on-one.

I jump around him and fire webs to wrap him up.

Just then Ben swings in to kick Scorpion in the face.

I swing in and slash him with my Talon Claws.

Scorpion falls down and I see a small hard drive fall to the ground.

I pick it up.

Y/N: What's this?

I slip it into my suit to hide it from Scorpion.

After that Ben and I web down Scorpion.

Ben: Well, that's done.

The cops then show up to take Scorpion away.

I pull the drive out.

Y/N: Yep. Now, we can find out what's on this. Let's get back to the cave.

Ben: Right.

He and I web swing away.

(Twenty minutes later)

We're now back at the Spider Cave with Harry.

And we're looking through the drive.

Ben: So, we haven't gotten anywhere with this drive?

Just then I come across something to do with NuForm.

Y/N: Well, I wouldn't say that. It seems Hammerhead and the Maggia have taken an interest in NuForm.

Harry: The energy source that Roxxon created?

Y/N: That's the one.

Harry: But why do they want NuForm?

Ben: I think that's the million dollar question.

Y/N: Ben's right. If we can find that out, then we might be able to stop them from getting it.

Ben sighs.

Ben: So, what do we do now?

Y/N: We just go about our normal business until we hear anything about the Maggia and NuForm.

Harry: He's right. Until then we haven't got any moves.

Ben: Right.

I sigh.

Y/N: Well, I better get back to my day off. Can you boys take it from here?

Harry: Yeah, we're on it.

I clapse hands with both of them.

Y/N: Thanks, guys.

After that I take off my suit and leave.

I'm not sure what through Maggia wants with NuForm, but I know it's nothing good.
