PoV Tad
My ex had me wrapped around her finger way to quickly and I was thankful and proud that my boy looked right through it.

Now I was holding my precious husband in my arms. I kissed his forehead. He wad so young.

He should be with someone his age. The priority should've been his happiness and love.

He was thinking so low of himself and it really ticked me off.

I knew he was smart. I knew he was kind and overall just amazing. I felt sorry for Will.

I would need to talk to his father.

The next day, after a mall related meeting, I pulled him aside.

"What do you need?", he asked.

"I need to have a word with you about your son.", I told him.

"What did he do?", the man growled.

"He thought I'd hit him. Isn't it funny? What kind of asshole would hurt someone, just because they're angry?", I asked, fake shocked. Stanford stared at me blankly.

"Are you implying something?", he asked.

"Yeah. I don't think we will work with each other ever again. I do not want to support someone who disciplines his child with. A. Belt.", I shrugged, then walked away.

PoV Will
I was currently making dinner, when my father called. I put the phone on speaker on next to me.

"Good evening Sir. What's the matter?", I asked nervously.

"William, do you hate our family?", he asked.

"Of course not, Sir.", I replied.

"Then why do you want to destroy our family business?", he chuckled darkly.

"I don't know what you mean.", I said shocked. I stirred the sauce.

"William. If you don't get your husband to keep working with me, you will never talk to, let alone see, the twins again, I'll make sure of that. I'll make them hate you.", father growled. I froze.

"Do you understand?", he added.

"Yes, Sir.", I sighed.

"Good boy.", he said, then hung up.

I finished the food, then turned the stove off and sank to the floor, hugging myself.

I never had much love in my live. Noone in my family had actually cared about me, ever. I was an affair child with a runaway mother.

But when uncle Shermy died in an accident and his kids moved in with us, my dark earned some light.

They were my joy. My opportunity to give love and get it back.

All the time I had protected them, cared for them and done my best to make them happy.

I raised them.

Father couldn't do this to me! Mason and Mabel were my only family!

I tried to keep myself together. I tried not to cry. It just didn't work very well.

Suddenly small arms were wrapped around me. I looked  at Emily and smiled softly.

"Don't cry, please. Your food isn't that bad.", she smiled, them wiped my cheeks with her sleeve.

"You think my food is bad?", I chuckled.

"No! I didn't mean...ugh!", tje girl cried out jokingly.

"Is your daddy home yet?", I asked.

"Nope. But I'm hungry!", she beamed up.

I nodded. She set the table. Megan and Mathew joined us soon enough. I couldn't eat, but I tried.

When Tad came home, I waited till he had Emily ready for bed and in her room, before I pulled him into our bedroom.

"What's the matter? You don't look very happy.", he said.

"Tad, did you tell my father you wouldn't work with him anymore?", I asked.

"Yeah!", he said happily.

"You need to take that back. If you don't, he'll make my cousins hate me and then I'll loose the only people who made my life worth living for a long time.", I said seriously.

"Oh. Yeah, I'll do that, if thats what you want...", he sighed.

"Hey. I appreciate you trying to do the right thing, but you have no idea how much power this man has. Please don't mess with him.", I said softly.

He cupped my cheek with his   hand, then kissed my nose.

Then he said:

"I won't. "
