Toxic Affair

Chapter 22

The past eight months had been wonderful for Hayden and Max. Sam had been trying to move on with his life as well. He'd been on a few dates but nothing had stuck.

Everyone in AEW were currently on a European tour. Hayden was still the TBS Champion. Hayden had just woken up that morning. It was her birthday. They were in France. She went to get up.

"No baby." Max said. "I'm comfortable." "Happy birthday."

"Thank you." "I have to take a shower."

"Great idea." He got up and helped her up. "Let's go take a shower." Hayden laughed. They went into the bathroom.

Afterwards they were in the bedroom dressing.

"Let's go see the Eiffel Tower tonight after dinner." Max said.

"Alright."

"I've heard it's supposed to light up really pretty at night."

Later that night when Hayden got to the Women's Locker Room, there were bouquets of roses everywhere equaling one-hundred roses. There were also a hundred balloons all over the room. Hayden opened the card on one of the flowers. It read.

Not even a hundred roses are as beautiful as you. Happy birthday Hayden. I love you. - Max

She smiled.

Hayden was in catering making herself a coffee. Sam came in catering to get something to eat.

"Hi Hayden." He said.

"Hi Sam."

"Happy birthday."

"Thanks."

"How are you?"

"Good, yourself?"

"I can't complain."

After Sam's match that night he was called into Tony's office.

"You wanted to see me?" Sam asked.

"Yes." "I received a call from a lawyer who is representing Alexandria." "She's claiming that during your affair with her, she tried to break it off and when she did, you raped her."

"What?!" He said in disbelief. "She's lying." "Every time we had sex was consensual."

"I believe you." "She's also claiming that I knew about it and did nothing." "I have my top lawyers on the case." "We are going to work this out."

Later that night Hayden and Max were at the Eiffel Tower. It had just lit up with lights cascading all the way down the tower.

"It's so beautiful." Hayden said.

"Yeah it is." "Hey."

"What?" When she looked at him, he was down on one knee holding out a ring box.

"Hayden, I've never loved anyone as much as I love you." "Every day you make me more and more happy." "Will you marry me?"

"Yes." She sniffed and wiped her eyes. He put the ring on her finger and stood up. They kissed and hugged. "I love you so much sweetheart."

"I love you too Hayden."
