That Wednesday morning Hayden and Britt met up for breakfast. They'd just ordered.

"How was your weekend with Max?" Britt asked.

"Great." "We had a lot of fun." "He um, told me he loved me."

"Aw, really?"

"Yeah." "After he said it, he goes." "It's alright, you don't have to say it back." "I know you're not ready yet." "He was right." "I'm glad he's being so patient."

"Could you see yourself falling in love with him?"

"Yes." "Especially during moments like Sunday afternoon." "We were laying on the couch together and we both fell asleep." "When I woke up he was holding me, and it just felt right." "I felt relaxed and peaceful and being in his arms felt great."

"It definitely seems like you're falling in love."

"I'm scared." "Last time I gave my heart to someone, he threw it away all a piece of trash."

"I don't think Max would do that."

"I didn't think Sam would do that either, and look what happened."

That Friday night Hayden was home. She had a match at the pay-per-view on Sunday for the TBS Championship. It was around nine o' clock at night. Hayden had fallen asleep on her couch. She was awakened by a knock at the door. When she opened it Sam was standing there. He was holding a box.

"I came to get my stuff." He said. "Here's your stuff." He handed her the box and went inside.

"Thank you." "What are you doing in St. Louis?"

"I was skating with some friends."

"Your stuff's upstairs."

Sam had gotten his other things. They were upstairs in the bedroom. He had just come out of the walk in closet.

"That's everything." He said.

"Let me check one more time." "I don't want to forget anything." She went into the closet. He sat on the bench at the foot of the bed. She came out. "Yeah you got everything." Her purse was on the end table. She got her keys, took his off the ring and sat down next to him. "Here." He took them.

"Here's yours." He handed them to her with a sad look on his face. "I'm sorry."

"Don't start Sam."

"Are you hanging around with Max to make me jealous?"

"No." "I'm trying to move on with my life."

"Do you love him?"

"That's none of your business."

"Give me another chance." "I miss you."

"I don't trust you anymore Sam." "I would've trusted you with my life." "I thought you loved me." She said with tears in her eyes.

"I do love you Hayden."

"I really wish I could believe that."

"You can." "I do." "I love you so much."

"Why did you cheat on me Sam, why?" She said with tears coming down her cheeks. "Were you bored with our sex life or something?"

"No." "Before I started having sex with her, she'd flirt with me, I liked it." "I should've stopped it the first time she kissed me." "She pursued things and eventually I gave into it." "I shouldn't have."

"Did you ever take her to see the ferris wheel?"

"No." "That's our special place."

"It hurts so much knowing you made love to someone else."

"No, I had sex with her."

"What's the difference?"

"With her afterwards, I felt nothing." "With us, I felt love and happiness, like we were the only two people in the world." "I love you." He kissed her. She kissed him back but broke it.

"No, I can't do this." "I can't be like you." "I care about Max." "Even if we did do something right now, I still wouldn't take you back." "Leave."

"Hayden." He said pleadingly.

"Go." He left. She heard the front door open and shut. She started to cry.
