Mystic Falls.
A boring little town in Virginia with too many animal attacks for it to be a coincidence. At least that's what Eliana read online before coming here.
She'd never even left her home state of Maryland, and now she was thrusted into staying with her uncle.

Eliana opened the door of the car, stepping out onto the sidewalk. She sighed as she looked around the street. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow on the buildings around her.

Sure, it wasn't exactly what she wanted but with her fathers death and her mothers disappearance she had no where else to go. And who decided to offer her a place to stay?

Alaric Saltzman, her father's younger brother.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad here, a normal school with normal people.
But this was Mystic Falls, a not so normal town with supernatural creatures lurking around every corner. Something Eliana would soon come to find out.

But, anyway here she was, picked up from the bus station by her uncle Alaric and driven to his place.

"You alright there, Eliana?" She heard Alaric ask in a concerned tone.

She glanced over towards him, a small smile on her lips as she nodded. "Yep, Just thinking."

They hadn't spoken much on the drive over except for him greeting her at the station, The silence in the car was awkward and uncomfortable, she'd hardly known her uncle for the first eighteen years of her life and now she was going to live with him.

"Well, let's get you upstairs and settled in." He said as he popped open the trunk, reaching in and grabbing one of her bags.

"Alright..." She trailed off as she walked over, grabbing two of her bags and lifting them out.
She didn't bring much with her, only her clothes and shoes that she'd need.

It's not like she could bring the furniture from her home, or either of her parents cars.
Her mother had disappeared before her father died, when Eliana was seven she just walked out the door and never coming back.
Her father had done his best to raise her, though they weren't the perfect family, if she was being honest she had hated the man.

Alaric helped her drag the bags up the stairs and to his apartment. Once she was through the door, she looked around the small apartment. Multiple empty alcohol bottles strewn about and she grimaced.
Oh boy, seems uncle Ric is an alcoholic...
