Hunter x Hunter // ONE SHOTS

~The Red String~

Gon and Killua were having a sleepover at Gon's house. They had just got ready for bed but there's one problem....Gon can't sleep, he's too excited to be with his best friend again.

Killua has done everything he can think of that you would do on a sleepover to satisfy Gon's nightly hour needs, but the raven haired boy was still wide awake as ever.

Killua plopped on to the bed in exhaustion with a loud sigh and rested his eyes for a bit. Looking after Gon is like looking after a child....wait he is a child...they're both 14 but Gon should be smarter than this.

As Killua was resting he felt another weight crawl up on to the bed, he knew it was Gon.
'Finally...' he thought 'Gon's going to be-'

"Killua?"

Killua was so in thought that he didn't realise that Gon has actually snuggled up to him and is now curled up on his lap. Killua blushes insanely.

"Idiot! Get off!" He cried in embarrassment, trying to push Gon off but the boy wouldn't budge. Killua gave up but was still flustered from their sudden position.

"Can you tell me a story?" Gon pleaded and his eyes popping out with sparkles like a damn puppy. Killua groaned in annoyance and his left eye twitched.

"Gon it's literally 4 in the morning! Can't you just go to sleep?..." Killua sighed. Gon shook his head with a cheeky grin.

"Alright but....can you let me get into a more comfortable position?" Killua muttered.

"What's wrong with cuddles?" Gon pouted.

Killua sighs once more and sat himself up properly and Gon sat in the same place.

"Once there was-"

"Once upon a time..." Gon cut him off.

Killua twitched with annoyance.

"What?"

"You're supposed to start with-" Killua shushed him by placing his finger over Gon's lips.

"Just shush...once upon a time there was a red string attached to someone" Killua started off.

Gon looked at him confused.

"Attached how?"

"It was wrapped around their finger, and no matter how hard they tried they never seemed to get it off, and they believed the string was infinite, because there was no end to the string. But one day they found someone and the red string was leading them to it, the other person had the exact same string as he did, and the string grew tinier as they approached one another....until they realised they're meant to be together. But the thing is that they didn't even know that each other existed until they met"

Gon hummed.

"But then the man had to leave for a bit, leaving the woman behind, and the string was still on them...never once snapping"

"Did they get back together?" Gon asked in a tired tone that was interrupted by a yawn.

Killua thought for a moment, sure they're together now....but would it be forever?

He suddenly heard light snoring and saw that Gon has fell asleep peacefully in his lap. Killua smiled.

"Yeah....they did" he whispered and stroked Gon's hair.
