The women's basketball team of the Providence Friars represents Providence College in the NCAA Division I competition. They were founding members of the original Big East Conference from 1979 to 2013, and are now members of the current Big East Conference. They play their home games at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island.

Currently, their biggest division rivals are the UConn Huskies, the team which represents the University of Connecticut.

Born into a family of athletes, Olivia Bennett discovered her passion for basketball at a very young age. Growing up in an home where sports were an integral part of her daily life, she was introduced to the courts from an early age. Her father, Michael Bennett, serves as an assistant coach for the renowned NBA basketball team, the New York Knicks, bringing home a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of professional basketball. Her mother, Sarah Bennett, also has a notable history in the sport, having been a basketball player for Providence College, the same institution where Olivia now plays and pursues her own athletic journey.
Additionally, her older brother Daniel, for a while, followed the family's footsteps in the basketball world. However, after a promising period on the courts, Daniel made the decision to end his sports career while still in college to pursue a new path in medicine. Currently, he is considered one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the country, combining his passion for sports with his dedication to helping other athletes overcome injuries and reach their full potential. The influence and support of the family were instrumental in shaping Olivia's path in basketball, inspiring her to pursue her own dreams and achieve greatness on the courts. She is known for her fierce determination and relentless work ethic, traits that have led her to stand out as one of the most talented players of her generation.
