I looked at the calendar on my phone and saw the circle around the date. We were on a break between games before the quarterfinals of the Big East Conference, which gave us time to breathe. The regular season had gone pretty much as expected. We lost only two games out of 20, and still, they were close games—we almost won both. Those losses had only fueled us to improve with every practice, fixing flaws and adjusting our communication on the court.
