Two weeks.
Two weeks since she'd killed Aleister, thanks to the distraction of everyone else, and Undertaker.
Two weeks since she had saved Undertaker's life.
Two weeks since she had spoken to him about what happened between them.
Two weeks since she'd decided to stay at the Phantomhive Manor until things make a bit more sense to her.
Two weeks without any word from Undertaker himself.
She'd been treated great by the servants, as well as Sebastian and Ciel. She'd become close friends with them. She had also been practicing a bit more with her magic, understanding how to make things appear in the palm of her hand, or even conjuring up other things. She'd even played with the weather a bit, but she only did so in a small area, so the rest of the world, or England, didn't wonder why it was already snowing in August.
She didn't want to brag, but Mikki already felt like a pro at this. They did say that due to the type of warlock she is, she'd have a better understanding and be more advanced in the area. She could already see that coming into play. And she was pretty proud of herself, if she says so herself.
"My, my, Lady McKenzie," a smooth voice says from behind her, making her jump and nearly send a large rock into Sebastian's head. She yelped and acted quickly, reducing the boulder to dust and letting wind take it away.
"Good God, Sebastian! Don't scare me like that!" She said, huffing and placing a hand on her hip. Sebastian only chuckled and lifted the tray of things in his hands a little higher.
"I was only bringing out refreshments. Even though you have a higher stamina, you can still exhaust yourself," he said. Mikki rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I know, I know. I got this," she said, then seated herself under her new-found favorite tree behind the manor. Sebastian laid out a small tablecloth and set the large tray down. "You can sit down, you know. You may be a butler, but even you need a break. Especially given how much Ciel orders you around," Mikki said, smirking up at the demon. He smiled softly and sat down next to her.
"I prepared some sandwiches, as well as some milk and water, and also some crackers," Sebastian said. Mikki smiled and grabbed the water first, taking a long pull of it.
"Thanks, Sebastian. This was really nice of you. And not just the food and stuff. I mean for treating me so well these past couple of weeks. It's really amazing," she said, looking down at her hands. Before Sebastian could say anything, though, she snapped her head up at him. "And don't give me that 'treating Phantomhive guests with the utmost respect' bullcrap, okay? I know you, Sebastian. And you don't do this for just anyone," she said. The butler chuckled a little.
"You know me quite well, milady. Very perceptive. I know things have been quite hard on you since arriving here, and I want to do my best to make you feel at home. Not just at the Manor, but in our time period. You've been here awhile, but that doesn't mean you know everything about it. Being immortal, even I can't keep up with some of the new things each few decades bring," he said.
"Thank you. That means a lot to me, Sebastian. And it's great to be around the servants, too. Mainly Finny since I spend a majority of my time outside. Now I really know what it's like to crave the fresh air and the smell of dirt and grass like he did. Being in isolation like that isn't easy at all. You slowly lose grip of your sanity... And it's so quiet you can almost begin to hear the blood pumping through your veins... Unlike him, I don't know what it's like to be experimented on, but I do know what torture feels like. And then being in isolation once again..." She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked to see Sebastian resting it on her.
