I look around as we ride through the village, a small smile never leaving my face. Before long, we pull up to a very, very large mansion. I recognize it immediately.
The Phantomhive Manor.
My eyes widen and my jaw drops. I stare at the amazing place in awe as we continue up the drive to the manor. When we come to a stop, Adrien helps me off the carriage so I don't fall on my face (that would not be good, I can tell you that). We then walk up to the door.
Due to my shock, I didn't have the greatest balance, so I stumbled around a bit in the large clothes until we got to the door. Adrien gives a knock, keeping his normal smile on his face the entire time. He was probably just trying not to laugh at how ridiculous I looked. The jerk. I'm brought out of my thoughts, however, when a tall man dressed in black opens the door. I feel the need to faint again.
Sebastian Michaelis stands there, looking at Undertaker, before turning his crimson gaze down to me. I feel my knees nearly give out, but then feel something wrap around me and hold me steady. I slowly turn my head down and see a sleeve-covered hand holding my waist, and the rest of the arm is around my lower back, keeping me steady. Adrien had caught me before I could fall. My heart fluttered slightly.
"Why, hello there, Undertaker. Is this young lady all right?" Sebastian asks in his smooth (and seductive) voice. I could tell my eyes are wide and my mouth is gaping, and that I also have a strange look on my face due to the confused-like look Sebastian is giving me.
"I-I'm fine... Thank you..." I practically squeak out. I was just surprised I could even say anything at all. Sebastian gives a ghost of a smile.
"Please, do come in, you two. The young master has been awaiting your arrival, Mr. Undertaker," Sebastian says, motioning for us to walk inside.
It's only after a minute of walking that I realize Adrien's arm is still in its place around my waist. I look up at him and see the scar around his neck and across his face, where it's only visible as it comes down across the bridge of his nose. I always wondered how he got them. I'll make sure to ask him some day.
We reach the door and Sebastian opens it, revealing what must be Ciel's study. Ciel is sitting in his chair behind his large desk. My legs weaken once again, but suddenly I realize my feet aren't even on the ground anymore. In such a swift and single movement, Adrien had lifted me bridal-style into his arms. I look up into his face and he is looking down at me and flashes me a smile. He then looks up at Ciel before sitting down in a chair, still keeping me in his arms.
"Who is this girl? Is she all right?" Ciel asks.
"Ah, my lord, this is McKenzie Brunswick. She isn't from around here at all. Just feeling a little woozy, she is, hehehe," Adrien replies.
Ciel gets up and walks towards Adrien and myself. He looks into my blue-brown eyes with his own blood-red ones, the contract symbol still imprinted in his right eye. He then extends a pale hand to me. "Hello, there, McKenzie Brunswick. I am Ciel Phantomhive," he says, shaking my hand. He then pulled his hand away and stepped back. "Sebastian, take Undertaker's guest and give her something to eat and drink," Ciel orders.
"Ah, yes, she seems to be a little hungry, hehehe," Adrien says, letting Sebastian take my hand and carefully walk me out of the room, leaving Adrien and Ciel to talk.
====SEBASTIAN====
I keep an arm around the young lady, keeping her steady on her feet as I walk her to the dining room. Her clothes look far too big (and are most likely the Undertaker's from the looks of them), and she is already a little unsteady, so I know it's a good idea to keep her steady to the best of my ability.
I pull out a chair for her and she sits down, and then stares at me.
"You know, it isn't polite to stare," I say with a small smile as I note her flushing and looking away quickly, mumbling a small 'sorry'. "What would you like to drink, Lady McKenzie?"
"Oh... I, uh... I'm a big fan of milk... May I have a glass?" she asks, sounding somewhat afraid, yet not too afraid. More in disbelief, I suppose. I get out a fine china tea glass and saucer and pour some fresh milk into the cup. I set the cup down in front of her and she slowly picks it up and takes a drink.
"May I ask you some questions, Lady McKenzie?" I know it isn't really my place to ask questions, and I'd never seen her with Undertaker before, so I just wish to know who she really is.
"Sure," she says with a small nod and a sip of milk. I give a small smile and sit down in a chair.
"Where are you from?" She looks at me, then quickly back down at the table and glass of milk in front of her.
"Not from here... I'm from the year 2016... What year is it here?" She asks, and I tell her that the year is 1890. "I was right," she said with a small sigh, "I am far from home."
"Indeed you are. May I ask how you got here and why you're with Undertaker?" She takes another sip.
"Well, I was just in my room and suddenly I hear a laugh that I recognize as Undertaker's. I was watching a show and it was, well, this," she gestures around, "but only, it happened in this time period. Not mine. I know you probably don't understand what I'm saying, but you lived in what my time knows as a show. With the whole Jack the Ripper thing and everything with Claude and Alois, and all the way up until Ciel became a demon. But anyway, I followed the laughing, and it led me to a tree. I went into it, and Undertaker was there. I fainted, and he brought me here with him. that's how I got here."
By the time she finished, she was slumped down in her chair, avoiding looking at me, and picking at the tablecloth. I nodded, even though she couldn't see it. It's a confusing story, but I feel like I can trust her. I don't know why, but I just do.
Before long, she finishes her milk and eats a few cookies I had made. Just as she finishes, the young master and Undertaker walk in. Seeing Undertaker makes me think of him in a different way. Lady McKenzie had told me she had feelings for him, and I didn't really understand what she saw in him too much. However, I now see that he is a man that willingly took her in. He may be a bit crazy, but I believe there's more to him than what meets the eye. I just hope he treats this girl with care and respect. Otherwise, he will be hearing from me.
I help her stand up, and Undertaker puts his arm around Lady McKenzie, keeping her balaced in case she were to lose it again. I watch the two of them take off.
((A/N: Hey guys! So we got cancelled today from school, so I'm really hoping to get things going with updating/fixing chapters so I can get to the spot I left off from on my other account, and then update that! Also, I found that the song "Heart By Heart" by Demi Lovato (from the City of Bones movie) goes well with this story, so I will keep that song in the media throughout the story for people to play if they want to! Now! On to Chapter Six! Thanks for reading!))
