"Adrien!" I scream as hot tears flood from my eyes. I fall to my knees next to his body and shake him. "Adrien! Adrien, wake up! Adrien!" I scream. I grab onto his robe and shake him more, then I stop and lay my head down on his blood-soaked chest. I can't help but sob uncontrollably.

Then I remember the man that Sebastian is holding. Anger boils inside of me. I get up from the ground and turn to the man in Sebastian's grip. Then I attack. Scratching, clawing, punching, smacking, kicking. I can't stop. And I don't stop. Not until Sebastian, shocked into dropping the man to the floor, quickly grabs me and pulls me away from the man. I then collapse, becoming nothing more than a sobbing and bloody mess. However, Sebastian holds me up, and I grip onto his tailcoat. "Lady McKenzie?" I hear him ask, worry lacing his words together.

"B-b-bring Adrien t-t-to his r-room..." I say quietly, my voice hoarse and my throat feeling like sandpaper.

"Go, Sebastian," Ciel orders. "And take that man up as well for questioning."

"Yes, my lord," Sebastian says, then carefully sets me on the bed before carefully picking Undertaker's body up off the floor and carrying him, dragging the man behind him, up to the main room. I hear Ciel walk over to me.

"Come, let's go up there. You should get yourself cleaned up. Sebastian and I will question that man. We'll get this sorted out, okay?" I remove my hands from my face to see Ciel offering a hand to me. I take it, my own hand trembling. He helps me up and he walks me all the way to Adrien's room. "You stay here with him. I'm going to go with Sebastian in the front room to talk to that man." I nod.

"Ciel?" I ask, before he can fully leave. He turns to look at me. "Thank you... For all you're doing... It... It means a lot..." I see a very small smile ghost his lips.

"Stay in here unless you need anything," he says, then leaves me with Adrien.

Sebastian had put a bucket of warm water and a cloth next to Adrien's bed, and I picked it up and got it wet before carefully wiping the blood from Adrien's body, clothes, and hair the best I can. When I finish, I set the cloth in the bucket and lean in to kiss Adrien's cheek. There's a weak breath of air that fans my skin, and I look at Adrien's closed eyelids after brushing his bangs to the side. I just stare at them, hoping and wishing they would open. I need them to open. I need to see his glowing green eyes. I need to know he's all right. I need him, and he knows I do.

Then, just so very slightly, Adrien's eyes just barely open. I see a very small sliver of green, but it isn't glowing like normal. They're a duller color, like other reaper eyes. I don't care, though. They're opening. And I can see them better now. He's alive. He's all right.

Then, a very faint smile works it's way onto Adrien's lips. I feel a tear roll down my cheek and smile, knowing he's still here with me. "You... You can't get rid of me that easily, my dearest Mikki..." he says hoarsly and weakly. He then coughs a little, and I rest a hand on his chest.

"That's right. You're a stubborn old man. There's no way I could get rid of you. No matter how hard I try," I whisper, smiling through my tears. A weak and airy chuckle escapes Adrien's pale lips. This must have been what I looked like when I was bed-ridden: pale and weak. "What do you need? I'll get it for you. I want to help. I need to help. What is it? Tea? Water? Food?" I ask. Adrien smiles weakly again.

"This... This is what I need," he whispers. Before I know it, he pulls me down on top of him with surprising strength, given his condition, and kisses me deeply. He rolls me onto my side, and we pull away from the kiss. His eyes were now a more glowing green, and my I felt my heartbeat quicken. I was still in shock over what happened, though. How did he even manage that? "I have all I need right now. All I need is right here in my arms," Adrien says, stroking my cheek softly. My eyes tear up and I feel one roll down my cheeks, only to be brushed away by his thumb.
