Adrien smiles and I get the chance to deepen the kiss. My fingers start running through his hair as I let out a soft moan. His strong arms wrap around my lower back and-

Suddenly, the small grandfather clock in the other room began to chime, and I then realize it's already nine o'clock. We pull apart and I tell him goodbye before running out the back door and bursting into the reaper world with a wide smile on my face. Never in my life had I thought I would be so excited for school.

The door seemed to shut behind me, and I smiled as I looked around. I then jerked out of my thoughts when I notice that I only have five minutes to get to class. And I don't really know where to go.

"Hey, Mak!" I hear a voice yell from behind me. I spin on my heel to see Ronald running to catch up with me.

"Hey, Knox," I say, though continue looking around. I hear him laugh.

"C'mon. School's this way," he said, grabbing my wrist and running off toward the academy. I yelp in surprise, but follow the best I can.

When we arrive at the school, Ronald takes me to the office where I get a paper, telling me where to report to.

"So where ya heading?" Ronald asks as he appears beside me again, making me jump a little. I then unfold the paper.

"Room Z26 is what it says," I say, looking around for the room.

"Really? Cool! That's where I'm heading," Ronald says, then lets out a troubled sigh. "It's Spears's classroom...." He then leads me to the room. 

We soon find ourselves in front of a set of large metallic double doors. Ronald opens them and we walk inside to see William at his desk, looking at some papers.There's already a couple of people in there, and after a little longer, more people come in.

After a final person comes in, William gets up from where he was seated and walks to stand in front of us. All of the Reapers stood off to the side, while the Recuits stood in a straight line. William adjusts his glasses with his scythe and looks us all over.

"Everyone is here, I presume?" the superior reaper says in his near-lifeless voice. "Then I shall begin. You will all be assigned a Reaper that will show you around and help you out with things. Almost like a tutor. You are to travel to classes together and report to your dorming rooms together as well. Today I will assign recuits to Reapers, so listen closely. When I call your names, you are to find the Reaper that was also called, and stand in the back of the room away from the rest who are still being called. Understand?" William looked at us all again, then down at his papers.

"Recruit Ms. Sisillia Broger to Reaper Palenciana Jaspens." A dark-skinned woman with short, curly hair stepped forward from the recuit line, and from the Reaper line, a woman tall woman with orange-ish hair pulled into a ponytail emerged. They exchanged a smile with each other and stepped to the back of the room.

"Recruit Mr. Jarvis Kanter to Reaper James Marquess." From the recruit line came a boy with white-blonde hair, and he was met with a Reaper who was taller and had nearly the same color of hair. They then went to the back of the room as well, followed by the next pair, "Recruit Ms. Pamela Forst to Reaper Landon Carsinz."

"Recruit Ms. McKenzie Brunswick to Reaper Ronald Knox." I bite my lip to keep me from letting out a large smile, only offering a small, polite one. How completely predictable. I truly should have known it would end up like this. However, I wouldn't complain.

I walk over to Ronald and he offers me his arm, looping it out and allowing me to loop my arm into his. He gives me a smile before taking me to the back of the classroom, where I don't even pay attention to the other pairs. Before long, we are dismissed to go to our dorms.
