====UNDERTAKER====
I don't know what could possibly ruin this moment. It's so perfect in every way. I must admit, though I really don't like doing so, I have kissed plenty of women in my long lifetime. However, after such a long time, I found a girl that fits me so perfectly in every way. Her body when she curls up to me, her hand when it's locked with mine, our lips when we kiss. It's so perfect, and it makes me feel warm inside every time. Mikki is absolutely perfect.
There's then a light knock on the front door of my parlor, and I can't hold back the growl that forms in my throat. Mikki laughs lightly at the sound and gives me a kiss on the cheek, then hops down off the chair and puts it away. The two of us then walk to the front room, and she goes to look out the window.
"It's William. I'll stay out of sight," Mikki says when she turns back to me.
"That'd probably be the best idea," I say, giving her forhead a kiss before having her go off to her room. Once she was gone, I open the door and put on a wide smile. "Hello, there, Mr. William!" I move aside and allow for him to come in.
"Hello there, Mr. Undertaker. My apologies, but did I wake you?" he asks, his voice just as lifeless and monotone as ever.
"No, not at all. Why would you think that?" I ask, raising one of my eyebrows, even though he couldn't see it.
"I just assumed so, given the state your hair is in," William says. That's when I remember Mikki's fingers running through my hair moments ago. When she had me against the wall, kissing me with such hunger and passio- FOCUS!
"Oh! Yes! No, I was just... busy," I say, grabbing my hat from the counter and putting it atop my head. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I had come today to ask you about the academy."
"Oh? Well, I'm all ears," I say, sitting on one of the nearby coffins. William does the same to one across from me.
"As you should know, we have gotten some new recruits recently. For some reason, we have more recruits than normal, but only the same amount of staff. However, our reapestry instructor has just left us, meaning there is no one to teach that class. With you being the legend, I figured I would come to ask you if you coud come in for a few days of the week to fill that role. I know that you have been around for quite a while, so I assume you know enough to teach the history of reaping rather well," William explains.
"Hmm... Well, I think it sounds great! I'm not too busy, so it shouldn't be a problem with coming in," I say with a smile. I then turn the smile into a mischievous grin. "However, I won't do anything unless you give me a good laugh." William's eyes narrow and a frown sets on his features. He then sighs.
"All right. Fair enough. Let me think," he says, pushing his glasses up with his scythe. He then sighs. "I was so ugly when I was born, the doctor slapped my mother," he said.
I couldn't help but fall onto the ground, rolling around in laughter. Honestly, of all things, I did not expect the William T. Spears to say something like that! Maybe that's what made it so funny.
Once I get over it, I wipe my eyes underneath my bangs. "Oh, William! You honestly shouldn't put yourself down like that!" I say through my remaining laughter. William only sighs.
"I was only repeating what I once heard someone said," he says, but I don't really care to listen. "Anyway, I assume you will be coming in to substitute for the academy now. I would like for you to come in Friday morning," William says, adjusting his glasses once more. Suddenly, though, there's a loud thud from another room, and William looks in the direction he had heard it come from. "What was that?" he asked. That's when I remember Mikki and the people who have been after her.
"I, uh, I'll go check!" I say quickly, standing from where I was sitting and running off to Mikki's room. When I arrive there, I find her laying on the ground. I go to my knees next to her and immediately look all over her body to see if there were any wounds. When I don't see anything, I look into Mikki's face. "What the hell happened?" I ask, helping her to her feet and checking her over once more.
"Well, I was trying to reach the paper up there, but I lost my balance and fell off the casket," she said with a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of her neck. I sigh in relief that that was all that happened, and pull her into a hug.
"Try and be more careful, love. I don't want you accidentally wounding yourself," I say. She smiles and kisses my cheek.
"Yes sir," she says with a small salute. "William's still here, I'll bet, so go and finish up with what you guys were talking about." I nod, but before I leave I get the paper she was reaching for and hand it to her.
I return to the front room to see William just where I had left him.
"I apologize about that. Something... fell," I say.
"No need to apologize," he says.
"So, three days?" I ask, not really in the mood to let an awkward silence happen.
"Indeed," he says. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go and make sure no damage has been done by Reaper Sutcliff," he says, standing and adjusting his glasses. I nod and go to open the door for him, and he leaves.
I walk back to Mikki's room and find her laying on her belly on the ground, kicking her legs in the air and drawing. She isn't facing me, so I decide to just lean against the doorframe, watching her and listening to her humming. I realize she had changed out of her dress and was now wearing one of my robes and a scarf, and is also wearing her hat I made for her. I can't help but smile at how adorable she is.
Mikki turns the paper a bit to get a different angle with her drawing, and I manage to see what it was. A small, simplified version of me inside a large heart. I'm still wearing all of my normal clothes, and also have a big smile on my face with a bone shaped treat hanging out of it. My hair is also covering my eyes. In one hand is my scythe, and in the other is a jar full of the bone treats. The whole picture is really amazing, honestly.
I think about it, and decide it's best not to mention to her about me teaching reapestry. I think it would be a nice surprise. I walk into the room and Mikki looks back at me, then quickly covers up the paper. I chuckle and walk over, sitting down in front of her. I brush some of the fallen hair from her face, and Mikki smiles warmly.
"May I please see?" I ask. She then sighs, clearly debating on showing me or not. Finally, she sits up, crossing her legs, and hands the paper to me. I smile and take it from her. The picture was far better up close than it was when I was standing in the doorway. What I really didn't see when I was further away were the words to what must belong to a song. I read the lyrics and smile.
After reading, I gesture for Mikki to come over and sit beside me. She crawls over to me, but decides to sit herself on my lap, leaning her head back against my shoulder. I smile and kiss her cheek before setting the paper down and wrapping my arms around her and just very slightly moving side to side, resting my head back against a casket. This was amazing. It was so great to just sit in silence with my beloved, not a sound at all except for the soft sounds of breathing. I can't help the small smile that works its way onto my lips. It's so peaceful. I never want it to end. This is truly what I feel like I've been searching for all my life.
((A/N: Aww, possibly one of my favorite moments with Adrien and Mikki. I think it's adorable, at least. Anyway! I hope you enjoyed, and thank you for reading! I spent far too long looking for a joke for William to tell, and finally settled on the one that made me laugh. I found it funnier with imagining William saying it, though XD. Anywho! Leave a vote if you liked it, and please comment if you wish! It always inspires me and makes me happy to know what you guys think! I love you all, and I'll see you next chapter!))
