Chapter 17

Alex gets to the police station quickly. The officer who helped Adrian was there waiting for her. She walks up to him and stands there. "Please come inside we have a lot to discuss." Alex follows him into the police station. They sit down at his desk so in the office. "We are releasing your father today as well as adrians father. We have no evidence to prove your father did that to Adrian or that adrians father beats him. Also Adrian refuses to press charges on either of them." Alex is shocked by this news since there was plenty of evidence. "Can I see him?"
"Yes you can. Actually you can take him home."
"What about Adrian's father?"
"We already released him he's heading to the hospital to visit Adrian."
"What!" Alex's phone rings and makes her jump she pulls it out of her pocket and answers it." Hello is this Alex?"
"Yes. Why?"
"Your listed as the only emergency contact for Adrian young."
"Okay"
"Adrian is no where to be found and his father came in about five minutes ago looking for him."
"Okay I'll be there in a minute I suggest you watch all the exits, Adrian might try to get out of the hospital." Alex hangs up and quickly headed out of the police station. She gets in her car and speeds to the hospital. When she gets there she quickly began to look for Adrian. A nurse stops her. "If we don't hurry he will bust his stitches." She hurries around searching everywhere. She is on the seventh floor when she finally sees him. His dad has him in a choke hold and Adrian isn't fighting. He is just letting his dad choke him. "Adrian!" He turns his head and stares right at her. Then he begins to fight his dad and is winning. All of a sudden his dad pulls out a gun and points it at her. "You ruined everything! We are leaving! We are going far away! Now stop fighting or I shoot!" Adrian goes completely still where he is standing. His father puts him in a head lock and keeps the gun on her. "Now we are going to leave without any cops following us. If any cops come I will kill him!"
"You wouldn't kill your son! You rely on him for everything!" Adrians eyes move past her to down the hallway. He begins to thrash and pull away from his dad. "No!" Adrian screams as gets free, Alex turns and see's the elevator doors are open. Two men are walking their way carrying a box between them. Adrian picks Alex and runs down the hallway. A bang echos through the hallway and Adrian drops. Alex hits the floor with and then she realizes his arm cast is gone. "Adrian! What's wrong?" Alex asks as Adrian stands up again and starts running again. "Nothing we have to get everyone out of here!" Adrian turns and runs down the next hallway. Adrian goes to a phone on a desk. "Everyone needs to evacuate! The hospital has a bomb threat!" Alex doesn't understand why he's saying that. "Why would you lie about something like that!"
"I wasn't that box the men had was the same box my dad had before my mother died!"
"Why would your dad blow up a hospital!"
"He's threatening me! I go with him or he blows up the hospital!"
They get to another elevator and presses the button. He sets Alex down in the elevator and holds the door open. "You need to help evacuate the building!"
"Are you going to go with him?" Adrian hugs her and Alex feels wetness on her shirt. She looks at him and see's blood seeping out of his shirt." Adrian you busted your stitches."
" I know I'll get them fixed I promise." He lets the doors shut and Alex stands alone in the elevator trying to think of how to get out of this situation. Why did her boyfriend have to be so deep into stuff no one wants to be in.
